Yes most of my time will be spent on time trials. I bought a SNES and Mario Kart ten days ago for said reason.

AI easy but the cheating makes it tougher. Was hit by a blue shell and two red ones while leading on a final 150cc race yesterday. Good to see some things never change......

I loved the other night. Especially when you got stuck right on the line of the skiing course! DK was beating his chest and we all flew past you!

That (Wario Mountain) is an incredible track. It reminds me of SSX when you come out of the chopper at the start. The slalom is sick!

I know the Snes version is a beloved classic and rightfully so but I don't feel it holds up amazingly these days, by that virtue I'm starting to feel like we have a new king of franchise with MK8. I'm enjoying how straight forward getting into an online race is too, I never bothered with it much in Wii but its so easy to pop on for 10mins. Shy Guy Falls, N64 Rainbow Road, Bowsers Castle and Wario Mountain are my faves, epic tracks

No doubt. If I could only take one copy of Mario Kart to Bowser's castle, it'd be MK8. There better be an internet connection in his castle.

Just put SMK on and it's just amazing. It's very different to new games now in that it's more about precision racing. When running full speed it's immense.

You could easily place 8 alongside Super. They are both amazing.

Totally agree - that track blew me away when I raced for the first time.

Not much to add about the game - just loving it as it's so much fun. My username is hurryupharry if anyone wants to add me

The latter half is basically Golden Forest from 1080.

My mind couldn't accept the section where you come out the tunnel and you see the final downhill stretch in front of you which doesn't slow down at all. Absolutely breath taking. I had to play it a few more times to let it sink in.

I don't think that part will ever get boring.

Although I wish some of the retro tracks were more spectacular, Donut Plains 3 rocks!

Also the water makes me crave Wave Race.

Love everything else though and worth buying the console for. The best since Super.
It's a ten based off of the online elements and time trials alone. Everything else is throw-away, especially considering GP mode will be taking up about 0.002% of my total time spent playing. I'll give it another couple of months before giving it a score however.

Lot's of games have online and time trials exactly the same. They are standard components.

It's Mario Kart 7.5. The anti grav aside, it's the least changed game in the series from the one before.

I love it, really I do. But it's exactly what I expected from a very safe playing Nintendo.

What controllers are people using? I'm sticking to gamepad currently, but my mates are using Wiimote + Nunchuk. I tried that and it seems good too, the waggle to initiate tricks is now not necessary.

Think I'll pick up a Pro Controller as the gamepad's pathetically short battery life was so annoying over the weekend.

Gamepad. Really can't fault it at the moment (got me the high capacity battery). I use analog stick to steer.

Remote and nunchuck when I have the TV, gamepad when I don't. I like being able to sit and play with my arms on the arm rests.
