Have done 9 missions now but only 5 are showing as completed. The achievements popped but game says we haven't done them.
It's a known bug the single player is very much as borked as the MP unfortunately

Apparently only play a mission when you know you can complete all of it- as saving midway doesn't work sometimes. Also, it's been known to randomly skip missions and put you further forward or further back than you were after cutscenes end.

I've not had too many problems with Single player, except for when playing in co-op.

the game is borked online still, I don't know whether to be angry or cry.

Online not working? Properly bad or just niggles? I would have thought Halo2 PvP was a big draw, and considering Halo2 is still referred to as the golden standard, I can't imagine it's that bad! What is the issue, lag or disconnects?

A combination of matchmaking issues and parties not functioning correctly, I've given up trying until it's fixed. They released a 1GB patch that took it from non-working to kinda working, but that ain't good enough.

When it works it's truly joyous

Yeah, well plenty of SP action to enjoy until it's stable. I remember the Halo2 times and being very envious of the Xbox owners! BF4 took a while to fix, but they managed to get that right in the end, so if it's just match making I guess you will be sorted soon enough. Seems par for the cause in 2014: we get to beta test retail games!

Yeah, I agree. I was playing in remastered mode and thinking it didn't look quite right, then I switched it to original and all those lovely colours and subtleties came back. Bingo!

I thought they'd included the original look as little more than a curiosity, like a show off thing to say 'hey, look how far things have come since you first played it' ... but it's a bonafide option, and original looks much better IMO. Great to have the option.

Right now we can only sit back and wait for Microsoft to fix its servers and party problems, and until then the greatness of revived and enhanced Halo 2 multiplayer is still an unfulfilled promise. 9/10
If no one can be bothered to punish companies for releasing shoddy online code at launch, we'll continue to get this over and over

Actually yes. The entire first screen is a giant advert for it. I kid you not. THE ENTIRE SCREEN.

Finished Halo: CE now, ready to move onto Halo 2 though. It's getting almost to Drive Club levels that the mp is still so utterly broken though

Seems very harsh. There's four full campaigns worth of content in this. Driveclub doesn't even have any American or Japanese cars in it. In terms of actual playable content they aren't remotely worth a comparison.

Both games released with inline content largely broken. Fair comparison. In fact the halo games have previously been working online on their previous consoles so it's even more alarming.

Yup, I only meant in terms of the online aspects. The offline stuff so far has been problem free and great fun

i would stay away from the Halo 2 campaign as long as the save system isn't fixed.

It's still broken? I was just about to start it too I'll hold off, will give me a good reason to crack on with FC4
