As good as it is, it still isn't as good a F Zero, just because of the music and Nintendo magic.

still an amazing game for the price .

      Is right.

F-Zero turned 25 years old three weeks ago.

Sorry, but for me, this doesn't make up for Nintendo not making a new game in the franchise.

It doesn't and nor is anyone with half a brain saying it is. It's a good game in it's own right. Well worth ?11.

          I'd say F-Zero: --------------|--- :Wipeout.

Skip to random parts of this:

Then skip to random parts of this:

          Then watch this:

The tracks are straight out of Wipeout; No loops, no corkscrews, no tubes or cylinders, no 90/180 right angle corners, and as a result no power-sliding incorporated into the steering mechanics. The cornering is a huge aspect of F-Zero when coupled with the speed, and with this there isn't much of a focus on navigating the courses at a micro level.

The cars don't float as far from the ground, and there are no weapons and only boosts. That's all it has in relation to F-Zero really. It's still a very good game though, any fan of racing games should buy it for the price it's at.

F-Zero isn't just GX and Wipeout isn't just HD.

Bit torn. On the one hand, I love F-Zero. On the other, I really can't get on with Wipeout at all.

This has the honour of being one of the last games I'd have checked out if I still had a WiiU. It looks really nice and should show Nintendo there's still value in such racers. Having seen plenty of vids the only thing I remain unsure of is the track design. It's a fast game but the tracks seems simple affairs. If people get plenty life out of the game though I will start to get a bit jealous.

Does anybody else the agree that the pure speed of the game, makes it quite difficult, im struggling on the middle league, its almost to fast at times.

I don't think it's about the speed but rather the almost perfect AI that steals all boost orbs, gets every boost lane, and apparently navigates corners with ease with heavy cars without losing speed. I think there's quite a bit of rubberbanding too, and the game strongly favours top speed over every other car spec.

Does the game support motion control?

Only the motion of throwing your controller at the TV.

                            Pity.

Tore a tendon in my left thumb 6 weeks ago and now reliant on motion controls.

No, but Super Hang-on on the 3DS Eshop does. Tilt mode with the tilting cabinet display is the most faithful home representation of niche arcade control on a home console ever, it's also the greatest implementation of motion control outside of Excite Trucks.

I hope they develop the same config for Power Drift.

I discovered that it does have motion controls. Pause the game with the tablet controller and you'll see the option to switch motion on and off. The wiimote can be used for motion too and works pretty well clipped into the Mario Kart wheel. But my preferred method is the wiimote and nunchuck swapped over so that the nunchuck is in my right hand, it's taking time for my brain to get used to the switched controls, but thank God for the many controller options available on Wii U. Means I can still play some decent games.

As for the game itself, I like it. I don't think it's as good as F-Zero or Wipeout, but it's still fun. Track design is somewhat unimaginative, but the sense of speed is fantastic. Good challenge too.
