Sigh. Sadly the patch has not fixed the frame stutters on PC. These impact what is otherwise a very good game, but unfortunately it can make this unplayable if they happen at the wrong time (and it's not predictable). I'm running this off NVME with 32GB of fast RAM on the 3080 Ti, it should not be getting framerate stutters of 2-3 FPS.

Are you running on Win11 with a Ryzen? IIRC the OS still has problems with the scheduler for that processor, which causes stutters.
I do have problems with the screen going black for a few seconds, probably because the video card and the monitor can't agree on the correct VRR , but restarting the game once usually foxes that.

I'm using a Ryzen 5800X and Windows 10 and I'm using the "optimise" option that's there. This is a game issue: https://www.polygon.com/22950618/eld...-steam-reviews
The scheduling issues were fixed ages ago in Win 11 tho: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-400Last edited by MartyG; 14-06-2022, 07:21.

Does the build-up of madness/poison/rot, etc. do anything actually different/distinctive to your character or to enemies, or is it just a case of taking off slivers of health when you hit the threshold?
Edit: Ignore me. I checked the wiki. There are some subtle and rather unimaginative differences between the status ailments.Last edited by Golgo; 14-06-2022, 08:56.

No faffing about jumping up narrow ledges. No fighting and no special ability required.Last edited by Yakumo; 14-06-2022, 10:30.

Essential, no. Towards the end of the game I did grind for tunes a bit to try out weapons that otherwise I wouldn't have had the stats for, but the thing about all the Souls games, is that even if you have 99 in all stats, bosses will still be able to easily kill you if you don't pay attention. Sure they'll take more hits to do so and they'll go down in fewer attacks, but unless you learn their patterns, no value will save you.

And answering the Q above, no but I find it useful for getting fast runes to level up weapons and buy stuff (and if I want to level up fast to raise a stat to use a spell or weapon etc)
