That's a shame, the crashing after the cutscene. Is it a widespread issue? Try contacting the developers.

I'm the same when I play computer or console RPGs. I have to open every door and every chest, pick everyone's pocket and fight every battle!

There are pages of crashing posts on the Steam discussion forums, but it's difficult to know how wide-spread this specific issue is - it's quite late in the game and I suspect most people haven't reached that point yet.

Now that the game has been officially launched, hotfixes should be released frequently. The first was only a few days ago, I think? Hopefully, your issue will be addressed soon but it must sting...

I didn't get on with the divinity games so I guess I'll miss this.

Digital Foundry vid went up today and they said their guy had multiple crashes when using Vulkan. Try DX11?

Vulkan was a no go for me as well if that was the problem.

Not had much time to play it this weekend so far, although I did launch a gnome half way across the map and try to help some NPCs take on some gnolls, only for them to charge in head first and get scorched / turned into a puddle of flesh and bones from an acid attack. Not the brightest bunch but they were decent canon fodder at least.

Doesn't make any difference, already tried all the things.

I'm not convinced DLSS is working either, doesn't seem to make any difference at all to frame rate regardless of settings, and sometimes the framerate absolutely tanks, this seems to mostly be an issue when there are more than 8-10 enemies on screen at once in the larger areas like the Goblin Camp.

30 hours in and still in Chapter 1. I located an entrance to the Underdark so starting my exploration of the depths. I ran into to two mean looking minitours with some high HP but they went down easier than expected. The Underdark was an intimidating place back when I first played Baldur's Gate 2, and I can see a lot of

petrified Drow standing about here. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they come back to life and we fight it out.

I forgot I had a speak to the dead spell. There's a few dead NPCs I want to have a chat with back on the main map.

Digital Foundry did a tech analysis of Chapter 3 also. It has some performance issues even on powerful hardware. Be interesting to see how it runs there on the various consoles.

I haven't been able to play it much (or many games full stop) since November last year but I'm back into the swing of things now on Act 3. I finally got to see Minsc again and am currently running through the House of Hope. Was finishing up a heavy fight when the game crashed

It's mostly been stable but this is about the third crash? All in act 3 as well.

The city itself is massive, I've already spent so much time here and it still feels like there's lots to do.

I had to stop playing the game at Act 3 as I started getting crashes every 15 minutes - was hoping it would be more stable by now after all the patching - I ended up restarting the game because of the issue that completely stopped progress and didn't have the same issue when I reached that point, so some wierd game state bug.

Act 1 is pretty much flawless and well deserves the acolades, I wanted to go back and finish things had they'd sorted Act 3 out by now, but sounds like that's not the case.

I will happily accept that if it never crashes again lol.

Yeah Act 1 is super polished. Shame it got so bad in Act 3 for you. To be fair I've been in Act 3 for a good 20+ hours now, but it's not ideal.

Beat Raphael in what was probably the toughest fight of the game so far. No way I could have finished him off the other night but I was much better prepared this time.

There's a way to cheese getting an NPC's legendary weapon by making them cast Divine Intervention, having them opt for the weapon and then making them drop it but I couldn't get it to work. I still got the weapon by casting it myself, but it would have been nice to save it for the final battle.

I'll probably be overpowered by that point though, best not to hoard everything and then never use it!

166 hours later and its beat. That has to be the longest single player RPG I've ever played, although I did try and do absolutely everything I could. I played through the final battle 3 times just to see different endings and kept reloading to see the outcome of various dialogue options.

It's an absolute feast of a game and I loved every second of it. It's truly a worthy successor to the originals.

I want to play through it again with an Evil party, and perhaps a completely original character instead of an origin character. There's also Tactician mode and Honour mode but I should probably have a break first and play something else for a while.

I've gone back to this game this week to finishing things off in Act 3. When I stopped, the game was unstable and crashing every 15 mins, but it's sorted now after all the patching and I haven't had any problems with it since picking it up again.

Very much enjoy the third part of the game, despite it mostly all being in the town, but I seem to have lost yet another companion, Jaheira, who didn't like what I did in the sewers. Shadowheart left some time ago and Wyll was taken away - and with Lae'zel MIA, I only have Astarion, Gale and Karlach left to adventure with :/

There are some great side-quests in Act 3, which I won't spoil, but there are some really tough fights that absolutely swamped you with enemies, and sometimes things get a bit messy with the cameras which doesn't always help - but the fact this game has kept me up gone midnight without realising it for three days straight, shows it's one of greatest RPGs of modern times.

BG3 is a game you really should play, now that all the technical problems are sorted - but you definitely need to be prepared for some tough tactical battles, and learn the systems in the game - buffing and support skills are pretty essential to make any progress - but it's the adventuring and true D&D nature of the game where this truly shines, it is almost like having a DM in your PC.
