Our pre-order copy just arrived from Nintendo and they didn’t pack it properly, meaning the included metal pin badges have done a number on the case. The envelope has also been badly bent in the middle. I just knew the damage the moment I took hold of the pack.

Nintendo are sending a DPD courier tomorrow who will then take it all the way to Poland for analysis before they green-light a replacement which will take another four days to arrive.

    This sucks.

Just get a new case Dave and move on, Nintendo will take weeks to replace that if my past experience with them is anything to go by.

Yeah maybe insist on a refund and buy another copy.

Very bloody good, this. Been playing bits solo and some others with friends that've been over the past few days, and it's just bursting with fun, creative ideas. Really feels like the priority has been making a thing that's fun and surprising in the best ways rather than any pre-existing notion of what a Mario game should be.

Something that clearly got lost along the way during the NSMB era.

Got my copy of Wonder late yesterday. Cannot wait to get into it!

Been trying the 5* levels man they are brutal currently stuck on one where you have to jump in time as the instant death purple goo rises. Getting a little further each time but man it's hard.

One really neat feature i noticed was on one of the break time levels it's one where theres a square room of those zip line rails that you coast around the edge on i kept hearing a weird roulette electronic beeping sound when i grabbed them, then i realised the sound was actually coming from my pad. They made the motors vibrate in such a way that it sounds like music it's a really cool effect and i have never seen it done before on any other game i have played.

Mario Kart 8 does that, as you collect coins.

I don’t really like the way you can circumvent the very clever purple coin placements by just death-grabbing them. Historically when you obtain a collectible and immediately die you have to get it again for it to count. That’s half of what made the DKC games (and successive Mario titles) stand out.

Stumbled across a Wonder park level that feels like it needs Coop to complete... That can't be right can it?

Is it the one where you need to pull chains? i couldn't figure out how to grab the stuff on that one as when you let go of the chain it goes back in too fast. Wondering if you need a certain badge equipped. I use the sensor badge to help on those levels but that only gets you so far.

Hitting around halfway through and if there was one misfire I could identify I'd probably say it's Elephant Mario
I'm not a fan of the design and it brings very little to the table but is used a lot.

Yeah I think it is, TBH I left it and completely forgot about it wile I am smashing out Secret World. Must go back and figure it out.

Good call on sensor badge though!

I'm mopping up the end game after a fantastic final world. Man the star world is tough! I have still yet to work out how to open some of the levels in the desert, too.

I'm on the final boss now and if Mario World was a 10/10 and NSMB was a 6/10 then Wonder would be a 8/10 for me. Being Mario it's inherently a high experience and I've enjoyed it but the more it goes on the more I'm okay with it ending. It's a big step up from the last few years of 2D Mario but there's still something that holds me back on it compared to peak 2D Mario.

It's no 3D World that's for sure. I really like it but I am happy playing for short bursts. It's a REALLY sweet treat.
