Yeah I see them I say screw them. I'm hungry and I'm trying to make a profit on my farm. Let the bastards starve, that's what I say. I mean those little cave dudes are nice and all, but when I offer them food they don't want it.

It is a good idea to give stuff to people. The bar wench is hot, but I'm working it on the seed girl. When do I give away the blue feather?

I think if you befriend them they come and work on your farm, i saw it in a review so it is a good idea to be nice to them.

It all makes sense now! Befriend a girl and she will want to work on your farm. Pay her a healthy wage and she will happily visit the barn...

I am sure that I have read that the harvest sprites don't help you out on the farm in this version.

Anyway I am going after muffy, she seems to be the easiest to please at the moment

Can you pimp all of them?

Have a bit on the side, and have affairs and what not?

I do not know if its just me, but i am finding it majorly hard.

I got the PAl version this morning and have about 40 minutes play and have gotten nowhere.

I am having trouble selling my milk
Cuting the grass in my field
                  finding things

as well as keeping my dog and cow happy.

Can anybody give me some advice?

This is coming from the master of the GBC games.

You sell the milk by putting it the dairy bin in the food storage shed.

To cut the grass in the field you need to use the sickle (found in the tool shed)

To keep your cow happy, talk to it and hug it every day. Same with the dog and make sure that you feed them both

The Mole- Well the fact you've only played for 40 minutes is half the reason you're not enjoying it I think. It starts very slow, even for a Harvest Moon game.

Make sure you get a fishing rod, it's 500G from Van and vital.

Put your crops in the furthest field away, ensure they are in season (check the manual). This will help them grow.

Get some chickens as early as possible, they are free to keep (put them outside on sunny days) and can make you good money.

With your cow speak to it every day. Also make sure you allow it outside except on rainy days. A brush is also a good purchase, this will keep the animals happy and producing good quality products.

Just persevere. It is very slow but does pick up.

I ditched the bar bird and went for the farm chick. I courted her, gave her flowers etc. Then I gave her the flower and went to sleep and we paraded around town telling everybody.

It was strange becuase 3 years passed and still my crops didn't finished growing. At least my cows are mature. I will be a dairy product mogul, you hear?!?

Anyway I really like this game. This is my first harvest moon experience. My farm is still losing money but I have a kid to abuse now so its all worth it.

                          Cheers for the tips guys.

I am enjoying the game just finding it harder than the GBC games i am use to.

What hacks me off the most is when ever i go to cut the grass i get the info about the tool rather than it doing its job. To me thats a major fault.

I got this yesterday and am really liking it. It's a very warm and charming game with beautiful visuals.

There are however a few of things that annoy me:

1)The days are FAR too short.

Currently I only have one cow, a couple of chickens and some crops I've just sown, but by the time I've fed and milked the cow, put the milk in the food store, fed the chickens, collected the eggs, cut the grass, watered my crops and caught a couple of fish for my dinner the day is practically over.

I mean I know that in reality farming is a full time occupation, but it would be nice to have some time to court the women, hang out with the hippy musician dude who plays guitar, and just sit around doing nothing but watching the leaves fall from the trees. God only knows what it's like when you have over 20 animals, I shudder to think.

I only hope the people you can get to help on the farm are hard workers.

                            2) I really dislike the fact there are invisible barriers in the game - it makes you realise it's only a videogame you're playing, and by that I mean it makes it more difficult to fully immerse yourself into the game world and it's physics.

On top of that, I'm annoyed that the character cannot walk through thick grass, plants and bushes or even walk up tiny banks. Again it strips teh game of any physics.

                            3) I don't like the way the character runs around, he seems to take far too many footsteps in relation to the distance he travels, and the sound of his footsteps is somewhat off as it sounds like a nail being hammered when he walk on a hard surface.

                            4) I think the fishing could of been implemented far better, more akin to how it worked in Zelda Ocaria Of Time. It would of been nice to see the fish in the water, to wriggle the bait around to entice them, to change hooks, to change bait, and if it was just a bit more involving. And why is it not possible to fish in the sea?

Still, these points don't distract too much from the overall experience, indeed I'm enjoying this more than any game for a long time.

I married cecilia and she's a dumb broad. I'm not sure I like this game. They make it really tough to be a milk mogul. Why can't more than one cow be pregnant at a time?

I have too much time in the day really because I have no cows to milk.

I have 2 of my cows pregnant so it is possible for multiple cows to produce milk at the same time.

I'm currently in the first autumn of chapter 2, and have 4 cows, a bull, 4 chickens, a cockeral, 2 ducks, a horse, a cat and ofcourse the dog.

I must admit to getting somewhat tired of taking all the animals in and out of their buildings every day and having to water the crops twice daily. I'm also tired of my wife and son, I've tried having an affair with some of the other characters but to no avail. I've also tried selling my son and leaving him by the pond in teh hope he will drown but again without any luck. It seems I'm stuck with them.

I've just discovered how to make hybrid crops which is good as I was beginning to lose interest.
