Major Question:
How can I make Rio reload her gun?

Every time I say "reload" she uses a heal pack (is she thinking I'm saying "recover" perhaps?). I've wasted three already, and there's not an infinite supply! I tried alternatives, but ammo, ammunition, clip, and bullets don't work. Bloody stupid that such an essential word like reload could be mixed up with healing.

Anyone found a sure-fire method to make her reload? Or should I just allow her to do it manually? How should I pitch my accent?

Because bloody hell, my British accent is ruining this game! I must have spent 10 minutes trying to get Rio to enter the bathroom (oi oi!), before realising I was saying it wrong.

Americans say bathroom similar to the "a" sound in Jack or snack. Whereas I say it more like the "a" sound in car or bar or far. After realising this she was more obedient.

Just watch american pie and you will pick the accent up!!

Other than that, I can't yet help as I haven't got the headset yet. I will aim to pick it up next month.

When you get to the sickbay and she asks you to name things you'd find, mention barium and watch her squirming reaction - that's obviously a no-go area for the young lady!

30+ attempts to get her to believe me that I have night vision cameras.

FFS! The game forces you to pass a left/right hand quiz, and it doesn't even recognise the words!

I almost destroyed my headset in a moment of rage. Without question the most frustrating game I've played in my life.

I thought the idea of the game was awesome and at times it worked really well.

There was that kind of adventure game element of collecting and examining items that I really liked unfortunately. The amount of pre programmed responses and recognition was really limited, you could see something on the table and you spend 30 minutes saying

Cube
Square
Metal
box
etc etc

only for it to turn out to be
Cocktail Glass

Nope, I've got to quit this now. Before I burst a blood vessel.

I've spent 30 minutes on those stupid green, red and blue walking sections, and the game refuses to acknowledge my saying "green", it seems to think I'm left, which now results in Rio stepping into a gap instead of onto green. It also refuses to acknowledge that I'm saying Area D.

Never before have I shouted such profanity at my TV. I don't even have a thick regional accent so I can't understand why she keeps mishearing my words. Londonders or people from Wales/Scotland/Ireland would never be able to play this, such is the shoddy voice recognition. It is diabolically awful.

Yup, looks like it stopped us both.

Well, I had some catharsis blogging about it.

I'm just not sure how resentful I should be, getting only 6 hours of frustration for $20. I'd sell the bundle on but I don't reckon there'll be many bidders in mainland Europe, and postage to UK will be huge.

Well got a headset and had a go. Kudos to those who get far into the game because it pissed me off early on. The idea was cool, story interesting and location was excellent. The voice recognition started of superb but then it just seemed to be so inconsistant. I played for about 90 mins and it annoyed the crap out of me so I turned it off.

Pity. A fine idea.
