    Of course you can - in multiplayer, it's obviously a mad dash for you to grab stuff before your opponents do but in single player, it takes on a different form. Yes, so there's a Versus mode which pits you against Tingle (who you can customise to make as good or as bad as you'd like), but it's Time Attack that's really fun on your own. You get 9 minutes to try and grab all 100 tokens before the time expires and that's before you start throwing in the mini-games that appear halfway through each play (they change depending on which of the 12 levels you're playing on), hitting secret buttons, collecting magic seashells and so on. It's great, I tells ya - everyone should be playing it.

    Oh, and my high-score for the first stage is 73 tokens - getting more than that is really rather tough, even if it doesn't sound it.

        If only it was that simple Marklar.

        Couldn't believe my luck. That's certainly one level I'll stay well clear of agin.
        MartTM I haven't played much of Tetra but from what I did play I thought it was excellent. I went up against Tingle a few times and kicked his ass. I'll give the time trial a shot tonight, I need a break from the main game after the above.

          Re this Deku puzzle: could someone supply a list of the jap characters/item names, so that it makes it easier when we come to that part of the game? It'd be a great help.

          From reading this thread I'm really looking forward to playing it, but that particular point sounds frustrating.

            Probably a good idea. I've got 4 of the 6 them written down, not a clue as to what the other 2 items could possibly be though.

            バクダン = Bomb
            クケ = Grass
            ケンバン = Sign (Furthest one to the left)

            Bloody hell that took a while. Some are the symbols aren't 100% accurate but they look a lot like them.

              So is it worth getting for single player only or not? It's not that I lack the equipment, just all my friends prefer to get intimate with a keyboard and mouse rather than a pad.

                it's certainly worth it, this game has captured my imagination more than any i can think of during the last six months to be honest

                  Finished Level 1. Must say the change to GBA from TV is excellent. Then again my shiny new SP may be aiding that ;-) Graphically it's excellent, audibly it's even better (I'm an old gamer). Nintendo really do seem to be grasping these styles well lately. It's a shame that the SP isn't RF like the Wavebird but then I did read earlier that they may be making an RF addition for the GBA. Which will be nice...

                    There is a wireless GBA-GC link packaged with the Japanese version of Mario Golf

                      Christ Earl, I didn't realise that! The other, long piece of text (I'll right it down later) is the oil candle thing. I guess the other is the water bottle and.... dunno about the last one I don't remember anything else 'carryable' in the stage

                      edit: I know, there are some small rocks about... that's the other one.

                            I was just about to ask for help but I thought 'one more go'. This is how Zelda should be Moments (hours/days) of frustration followed by "Oh, how thick am I?!" This is why I love Nintendo

                              I can only think of 5 as well, unless they include the two signs in the level. Really hope nothing like that pops up again, although I was stuck in 5-2 for a little bit. Got to love the little jail.

                                I did edit the above -

                                1. bomb
                                2. sign
                                3. grass
                                4. rock (the blue-ish coloured things)
                                5. oil lamp
                                6. water bottle

                                ...I'll right down the Japanese when I can be bothered and I play that level again

                                Gonna complete it tonight, I think (i.e. there are no surprises, like extra levels and such...)
