Perhaps they would be so good as to include a ref that doesn't: book your players at random; blow for a foul when absolutely nothing has happened; let the COM players get away with anything in and around their penalty area; know less about the offside rule than my mother; play advantages when there IS no advantage, and vice versa.

Other than the abysmal AI of said official and a slighty b0rked transfer system, WE7i is fine.

Still not a patch on Sensi though.

I wonder if the invisible walls that spring up for the keepers will be removed? If your keeper is diving backwards to catch a ball and his momentum takes him too far he should fall over the line, it happens in real life after all. Trouble is in WE7i if the keeper is diving backwards with the ball in his hands he'll hit the invisible wall and his momentum will stop dead. The same applies to the 16 yard box, your keepers momentum shouldnt just stop sharply when he hits the line with the ball in his hands.

Gamefaqs have menu translations. Also you can buy the save file from ebay for like 6 if you send this guy a mem card 251 and you also get a playing guide which i need cos maste leaguer gets a little complicated.

I am concerned that it looks like Konami think they have the "perfect" game, and are merely adding crap instead of making the game better, aka crap ref, crap controls, crap keepers etc etc...

Crap controls? I've never had a problem with them.

Its already been said that handball and advantage have been improved for this version.

Freaking controls, don't get me started, an octopus might be able to play the game to its full potential...not I sir, not I.

Also in WE7i the offsides are still attrocious, just WRONG. If they aren't sorted in 8 I am going over to catch, gut and grill seme SeaBass...

Ive always found the offsides to be annoyingly spot on, a bit of 'human error' in the offside decisions in we8 wouldnt be a bad thing (imagine the arguments in 2p ). One thing that does annoy me about offsides in we7i is when a ball is played to an offside player but pings off another random player, play continues but some of your defenders stand rigid with their hands in the air for a second or so. Enough time for a quick opponent to get one over you.
edit/ There really should be a deliberate handball action if your going to be penalised when as a player you cant do it intentionally. Keeper positioning in some areas needs sorting too, it can be way off sometimes. Starting with pes3 and now we7i ive been able to score goals from just over the half way line more often than i should be. That should be tightened up a bit.

The number of times I've been "caught" offside when the replays show otherwise has been immense.

Has anyone ever won a penalty decision? I've been flattened in the oppo penalty area x amount of times and sod all has happened.

I do believe WE7i has one of the worst refs I've ever come across in a game.

Cant wait for this. More clubs, more licenses, more animations, a ref on screen etc etc.

I agree the refs in WE7 and WE7I and most WE's before that are the worst refs in existence, i love the one i seem to get a lot if the opposition is sprinting so ball is a bit away from them and you slide tackle from in front of them, you whack the ball away but then because player was a bit away from the ball the game seems to think you tackled him when he didn't have the ball and nearly always gives a free kick.

Sort the refs out, have the AI doing more runs (after playing co-op nearly all the time i get so frustrated with the cpu doing jack****), and sort out some of the control problems (how they pass where your not pressing sometimes). There's loads of little problems that would make a huge difference if they got sorted, let's hope they do it.

PES3 was a love/hate game for me, it pisses me off hugely yet I keep coming back to it.

I hope they improve:
The referee's rubbish AI
The way your players occasionally stop dead for no reason.
The way the opposition seems to cheat to rob you of posession sometimes.
The free kicks - I've played thousands of games of the PES series and I've never scored from a free kick once
The turning is awful, why can't my players turn on the spot?

Oh yeah, is there no online play? Online PES = potentially best thing ever

Free Kicks were probably a little too easy in WE6:FE, a bit too random in WE7 and just about spot on in WE7i.

With a little practice you should really be able to score well above 40% of free kicks in good positions [between 18-30m] with a good player like Beckham, Recoba, Del Piero etc...
