Final Fantasy X is the worst FF game yet. Offical.

Right Square, I would like to have a word with you.

Your Game Final Fantasy X, that big project which was supposed to **** all over the others is well, how should I put it? ****ed!

The whole game makes no damm sense, the whole system is Illogicel, and the Diffuclty spikes are just un acceptble, I really thought that such a High Profile company like your self's would not resort to such cheap methods for a game but you do.

And to top it all of I have now heard that on the last boss it kinda kills it self!?!!?!? The why all the levelling up FFS!!!.

Anyway rant over, I'm sure Crispin can add much more to this rant then I can...

I stopped playing Final Fantasy after VIII.

Squall was the most annoyingly whiny non-evolving character known to man. And I had to control him for around eighty weary hours...

How to make a great script. By Square. With some paraphrasing.

Seymour: I just wiped out an entire race! And now I'm going to kill your friend. In short, I'm a genocidal maniac who wants to destroy the whole world.

Yuna (exact quote): I don't understand you.

I'll post more bile later, if I can be bothered. Dragon Warrior on the NES is better than this pile of ****e tbh.

And don't forget the laugh-out-loud funny plot 'twist' near the start of the game.

"So, it turns out that even though we'd just met, we've known each other all our lives and went to the same nursery with the nemesis as our nanny... only we completely forgot all about this because the GFs we use cause selective amnesia".

I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing when they dropped that one. Talk about taking the piss.

Fair enough, I'm not going to bite your head off, and I'm happy you enjoyed it. But why?

The funniest thing about the game is that all the time spent on the nice pre-rendered backgrounds was wasted as you just use that little map thing in the top corner to move from one side of the screen to the other (otherwise you cant see where you are going).

                  Then repeat.

People complained about there being no challenge in WW, but surely this is the ultimate in no challenge gameplay? Move from one side of a screen to the next remembering to hammer the main button if you get in a "fight".

I really liked 8 and 10. Having real issues with 9 though, playing through atm...

It looked gorgeous. The cut scenes were stunning and the magic system actually has some merit. I've spoken to some people who really got into it and they have said that the magic system is really quite malleable and has quite a lot fo depth. (FFVIII)

I haven't played it in years though, and never got around to completing it... graphics only carry me so far.

I'm affraid after 7, the series has been on a downward spiral. I did kinda like 8 although the story was utter ****e, i loved the setting and the graphics were and still do look pretty fine (especially the FMV's!) I'm just a sucker for uber punk setttings i guess.
But to be quite honest i have never seen the FF series (apart from FF VI & VII) as truely great games!! I think Shenmue was a truer reflection of how a Role Playing Game should be made.

I never got round to completing FF8, either.

As for the magic system, yeah it seemed quite sophisticated, but all that drawing was tedious, as was having to constantly tinker with the junctioning.

And why oh why oh why did they put the SeeD tests in? Games are meant to be fun, Square. I remember having to retake a test just because I momentarily wondered off the linear path to save my game!

All in all, the game was too much like hard work. And Squall was such a dick, I truly resented controlling him.

I think this game is actually the best FF game ive ever played! Having only play FFX, FF8, FF3 i guess im comparing it to different generations. The main reasons i liked this above the rest are as follow -

1 - it looks lovely and the CG movies really make me look forward to them happening.

2 - It voiced! i am so sick of reading things off the screen. When i play RPG's my eyes constantly water and itch if i read too much on screen text. Also it means i can listen i read the bits that are important.

3 - I really liked the idea of controlling more than 3 characters (wapping members at will).

4 - When battling enemies it fighting system allows you to ponder what to do next, kinda like grandia. I noticed that in FF8 and FF3 that you need to be quick on the button or the enemy gets a few more attack in. this really pisses me off!

5 - Some of the special moves were delish!

6 - Audio was great as it really brought about the right type of mood.

7 - It played a lot faster than other games, as the main character moved at a decent pace, so back tracking was not overly long.

8 - Good series of locations, which were varied and interesting (if a little cliched).

9 - The enemies at least looked more interesting during the random battles as apposed to crappy spiders an flies, etc.

10 - The over all presentation fitted togetther well, unlike previous versions where hardward hindered the magic the game wanted to convey as a whole.

Well thats my lot............. be gentle...........

Was this all posted today? erm, why? It's about 2 or 3 years old now!

And for the record, in my opinion it's got the most mature and well written of all the plotlines since FFVI (not played the earlier ones)

                              >Move from one side of a screen to the next remembering to hammer the main button
                              >if you get in a "fight".

Are we still talking about FFX here? You lot have gone bonkers.
