It would be really nice if Sumo were to include the original Outrun but also enabled this to be played over Live, that would be the dogs nads,

            For five minutes. SERIOUSLY.

Its like Dead or Alive Ultimate: how long do you seriously reckon people will play the port of DOA1 online for? An hour, tops?

Okay, whilst Ed and I are at loggerheads over retro games in general, tell me how the **** you'd play Outrun 1 on Live? It's not a Versus game :\

Although personally DOA1 is a better single player game than DOA2.

Hopefully DOA will get played more than DOA2 seeing as how it's a better game and everything

I guess Outrun 1 could be played on Live with some kind of versus mode implemented, it would be fun to see Sumo show some creativity with the original Outrun, making the overall Outrun 2 package something which could bring a tear to the eye of the retrogamer.

                    No it wouldn't

Sega AM2 revealed that the Xbox version of OutRun 2 will have a new mission mode, with over 100 missions. However, due to the fact that the Chihiro arcade system uses 128MB of RAM, instead of 64MB in Xbox, there maybe some modifications in the home version, but the graphic quality should remain the same as the arcade version.
                    From magic-bollocks. Hmm, less traffic?

I'm liking the sound of this Soul Calibur-esque single player mode skull diggery. A decent mission mode would be very much welcome, so long as it doesn't try to ape a Gran Turismo driver licence-style approach.

There is a bit of info about extras here.

                          Sounds great

How the levels take up 64MB would amaze me, there's nothing in them. If you look you'll notice every mid-section fades the sky out and you can't see the previous or next section, so each section can use up 64-minus-whatever-the-car-and-traffic-and-omnipresent-mid-section-use MB. Which is going to be lots. All the, (weird, jerky, looks like a 56k-interpolated-thing-going-on), traffic will be a small number of instanced models.

For the record I want the arcade game in all its glory. Extras can be hit or miss. Take Crazy Taxi: Crazy Box, excellent. Extra city, complete rubbish.

I don't care what extras are in there; I just want a decent port (the rest is a bonus).
Unlockable Outrun 1 would be nice, too.

Couldn't it utilise the hard-drive as virtual RAM?

This might be old news... but when looking for a OutRun2 Soundtrack I found this

Here are some OutRun 2 Xbox movies taken at a japanese expo, they are kinda shakey but the game looks great, you'll need bit torrent to download them.
                                Multi ? 1
                                Solo ? 1
                                Solo ? 2

                                Each is about 40-50mb
From these Videos it looks amazing? fast and Arcade Perfect!
