You are wanting me to buy a console for one game? Thats just ****ing crazy.
Is it? *runs off to get therapy*

I bought a PS2 for one reason - Psyvariar Revision. Then I discovered all the other joy on the machine like Initial D, Disgaea, VF Evo and Devil May Cry.

Just bought a Japanese N64 this week so I can play Starfox....wanted Killer Instinct so got the arcade board.

You cant cuss about people buying multiple hardware to play games, this is a gamers site afterall.

Indeed, if I hadn't got a GC, I'd be buying one for Biohazard 4.

To miss out on a series of games you're a "huge fan" of because of some pride thing is really a bit daft.

      Hey ho.

Yup. Considering it's becoming increasingly likely that whatever Fumito Ueda and his team are working on has moved to the PS3, then Sony have probably got me already at launch.

If a game's there which is strong enough to justify the hardware running it, then you'll have me. Personally, I believe buying a console for a single title or series isn't necessarily stupid.

It can also show how powerful/influential that work is get people to do that.

Unless you can't afford it, why not? I originally bought my PS2 just for WE6FE. I subsequently found plenty of great games to keep me occupied such as Psyvariar, Ico, Katamari Damashii, Taiko No Tatsujin, Frequency and VF4 Evo

Iv enjoyed WE6 FE on Japanese import for the Cube so i cant see what else i am missing out on by not having played previous iterations. Also its coming out for Xbox before Christmas so ill buy it for that. Problem solved eh?

That was part of my point, so cheers for picking up on it.

The fact is, Winning Eleven 8/Pro Evo 4 is coming out so soon after 7/3, so it's going to seem a little underwhelming without a big update, like, for example, online modes.

So have the Xbox and PS2 versions with online modes, and then a Gamecube version without any, will make it seem boring, and like half the product. Thus, sales will be much much lower. And this isn't just for people who want to play online, people get put off even if they aren't going to use that function, because of the possibility, and that they feel they're getting short-changed.

But yes, I totally agree with the part where you mention about them not releasing it on all the consoles. It really does suck. But hopefully that'll change with the new generation, with not-so-regular updates on every console.

I think Konami should produce 4 games a year which is Winning Eleven every September for 3 consoles and PC (Year) and none of this crap for 2 winning Eleven a year, PES every year and ISS football games. Just focus on one game for each 4 format. It will be easier.

                  But what do we know

Personally I think they should stop releasing half hearted updates, and actually fix some of the problems which are getting worse and worse in each update.

Next time I would actually like to feel in control of my team please.

Yeah, it'd be nice if they had someone play the game for a while, and reported back to the programmers what was wrong with the game. They could call this person a "play tester" and it could be a full time position.

If they fixed all the problems there'd be no need to buy next year's installment!
