Does anyone else own one of these? It's made by Olympus and it's a device which is basically glasses you wear including LCD screens, simulating an enormous cinema screen and includes earphones for surround sound. Sounds tacky but it's excellent, here you go:
It really does make you feel as close to being in the game as anything does. I got it out today and tried it on my new Xbox, specifically Halo and the experience was nothing short of absolutely stunning-total immersion and excellent surround sound, it was genuinely terrifying at times. I got everyone to have a go and they were totally addicted to it, it made Halo 10 times better (which is hard to do anyway). I'm having a bit of a problem getting it to work with my Pal Xbox games for some reason-I set my modded Xbox to be in NTSC game mode and Pal display mode and it worked perfectly for Halo NTSC, yet my other games are Pal, and PGR2 for example flickers-even in Pal mode which is odd.
So does anyone else have one? I suggest you buy one-fully supports RGB too, although the standard cable doesn't. The kit includes a scart cable, it extracts video rather than outputs it. So if you have a scart splitter for example as I do, plug the scart cable of the Eyetrek (it's actually 3 composite leads and one of those comp. to scart converters) into the scart socket of the splitter where your normal splitter to TV cable would go. Then simply switch devices as normal and they're appear on the eyetrek.
So does anyone else have one? I definitely recommend one. Playing Pilotwings is absolutely terrifying, and I tried it with Resident Evil and ED and it really was scary.
They must be cheaper nowadays-I think I paid around ?250 at least for it a few years ago.
