Hey Lyris, if you're reading this thread lemme know if you got my GS tix okay.
one thing that I am convinced about now though is that LCD screens completely suck for video games.
I'll upload pictures soon and already have some crappy short silent digital camera Quicktime clips at my site. The Halo 2 one is especially bad, it's hard to play the game with one hand (har har) and I wasn't going to sit back and let someone play for me when I'd been lining for 2.5 hours!
Wasnt too impressed by the graphics, thought it would look a bit better (might have been my tv though cos my friends didnt say anything).Last edited by Lyris; 02-09-2004, 23:52.

Spent 30 mins at ECTS yesterday...what an absolute joke that was. Its been ****e for a few years but ECTS 2004 is taking the piss now. Can't wait for next weeks MCV magazine where it tells us that the show was a huge success for the UK Industry. If anyone reading this is planning to go today then please just don't waste your time. If the organisers have any sense at all then this will be the last one. Its dead.
Couldn't be bothered going to Gamestars. I don't like kids at the best of times so i certainly wasn't going anywhere where i'd have to fight through hoards of them to get near any games. Looks a million times better than ECTS from the pictures though i must say.
So instead we decided to spend a couple of hours at the Troc and proceeded to beat all comers at Outrun 2...I hope there is more of a challenge when the XBox version comes out. After that a quick trip to the Japan Book Centre was in order and spent a small fortune on back issues of Weekly Famitsu and Arcadia that i've missed over the last few months.
Having nothing else exciting to do, we decided that we should wait outside the premiere of Tom Cruises' new film and take a look at the proceedings. Luckily we managed to get a spot right at the front of a barrier. We hung around there for about an hour and a half or so. Had a quick hand shake with Tom (we're on first name terms now) and then set off back up North.
We had a good day and a laugh. Just don't waste your time going to ECTS thats all.

took my little bro today, and went equipped with a digital camera. took over 60 quality pictures (the best were when master cheif was taking something from a little baby and a fat kid playing donkey konga on the big screen whilst sitting on the floor).
30mins before the show finishes im looking through the pictures and accidentily press a button and what does it do? delete all the pictures!
and there i am 30min before closing time running around taking random pictures of everything.
so..do any sympathetic ntsc-ers have the heart to send me a bunch of cool pictures from their trip?
cheers
Hasan

Anyway, the reason for me bumping this, does anyone know anything about Game Stars Live 2005? I want to get my cheapo airline tickets early. Last time I was on their site the date was at the end of August, but the site is down now and has been for some time. Is it still going ahead?

great, I cudn't go last year (was planning to right up until the week it happened, had tickets an stuff) and my gf gets a "once in a lifetime 3 day trip to rome" off her parents the same week so I had to go there instead :P turns out the game show was the once in a life time event :P ah well...
If I guilt trip her enough, E3 could very well be on the cards in the next few years
