not entirely true, I recommend you watch bowling for columbine. Basically its fear, Michael Moore went to Canada which has similar gun ownership levels to the USA but there were a fraction of the shootings.

availability really doesn't help though.

If the media are going to come after videogames then they should also do a report as to why children are presented with pronographic music videos and the standards for film ratings are dropping so rapidly. I have seen some 15 films that were no way 15. Mabey part of the reason teenage pregnancy rates are rocketing is that they are being told to have sex every 5 seconds. Takes the piss.

Of course they wont do this because the outcry might cut into their profits.
