10:30 tonight on the itv news, trever mcdonald is presenting another of those ''video games are bad for you and create a sociaty of delenquents and rejects'' reports
the ad used footage from halo.
when you think violent games you think gta, manhunt or some other product from rockstar. but not halo for gods sake!
also reporting on underage kids being able to buy doom 3 and gta etc.... blah blah blah heard it all before

video games do not create murderers!!!!!!

Playing halo definitaly made me want to wipe out an alien covant with my gas powered machine gun. Though i'm waiting for the report that says playing mario kart engourges people to speed on the roads.

no probs crazylegs-can't wait for a laugh though. I'll tape it and if anyone is going to miss it, i could lend you the tape. I've also got a friend (he's proper rich) who has his own video editing studio etc who could possibly convert it to DVD format for those from foreign climbs-but i'll have to ask.

Myself: [Puzzled look] Violence and death have occurred for thousands of years, it?s no reason to ban a game. There is no evidence suggesting that videogames lead to increased violence. I don't hear you kicking off over films and they are littered with rape violence and death.
Woman:: Woman: There is rape in this game how can you defend it?
Myself: I?ve not completed this game yet, I?m not aware of any rape though? Have you played it?
Woman:: Woman: I saw it!

Woman:: Woman: All my 40 year old ex-husband used to do was sit around and play this filth. It?s so pointless and wasteful. It?s awful I don?t know how people can do it!
Myself: That?s funny, because I know several 40 year olds who have led made very lucrative doing exactly that. I?d be surprised if they agreed with you.

Great fun. I really want to have another conversation with someone now. I reaslised in that convo that there is no way in hell she's gonna change my mind, and I'm not going to change hers... however, I'm defo up for pointlessly arguning with some annoying bint again.

Did anyone read the Times article about the playstation generation. People are against gaming cause it stops us playing conkers and marbles etc. Sorry this is the 21st century, children are never going to go back to playing conkers and marbles. Just because pepole don't understand the attraction of gaming, they instantly cast it off as inessential. Yeah, dammit, have to wait till Monday now... I *was* waiting for Richard & Judy and This Morning and all that faff to see if they had any 'games = violence!!111!11' featurettes given GTA: SA came out today, guess we'll just have to wait for the tabloids to wake up on Monday, and then daytime/crap TV will follow suit.
