I'm not sure whats goin on exactly. Perhaps its acquiring the license thats proving difficult because it cant be that hard to write live code etc. Are these games out in japan yet as snk themselves are ****ty publishers and tehrefore the blame cannot be solely placed on ignition who probably have to wait for the jap releases

i don't know why so many hate ignition, previously the only neogeo conversion i can remember coming out on a mainstream console in the UK was kof 95 on the saturn, now because of ignition those who wish to sample some neogeo love on their pal machines can do so, the releases might br far behind japan but it isa hell of a better stuation than it was previously

lol king of fighters 2002 listed as discontinued (xbox) before it's even out. another fantastic job by ignition. shouldn't SNK USA be looking into this? or maybe they just don't give a **** about there own IP either.

Very true.

Some people are very privilaged and are able to import their games. For people who could never import this is a life line.

I obvously dont know the details over the cancelations but It's a shame about this because fan's have already impoted the best games and only the people who cannot import will pick these up. With no marketing budget then sadly it seems many of the PAL conversions will slip into the background

I think Ignition deserve some respect for considering us and trying to bring some games over.

KOF 2003 and Metal Slug 5 are definitely already out on PS2. I got both a month ago from Play, and saw both (PS2 version) recently in either HMV or Game (can't remember which one it was now).

I don't know if the Xbox versions are out yet.

Gamestation have stock of KOF and Slug 5 on the PS2 for ?9.99.

As far as I am aware neither have been released yet on the XBox. I find Play pretty reliable with regards to release dates so hopefully we should see both at the end of next month.

SVC Chaos and Metal Slug 3 are PAL 60. great conversions.

Slug 4 and 5 ,and King Of Fighters 2002 are horrible 50hz only affairs. slow as ****, avoid like the plague. (Buy the ps2 versions if you can.)
i have the US Slug 5 which is region free, and when my machine is set to PAL bios and PAL60 on dash, it run like ****. Change bios to NTSC and full speed. Talk about a lazy, nasty conversion job. same with KOF 2002. didn't even change the code, just repackaged the discs - and they still took months and months to come out.

funnily enough, my Japanese KOF 2003 boots up with the ignition logo when my console is set up a UK bios, same goes for US KOF:NEOWAVE.

btw, Neowave is region free and runs at full speed 60hz, on a vanilla uk xbox. worth buying for $19.99.... got mine for just over a tenner with shipping from the states.

ignition's releases aren't worth bothering with. waiting months for them to come out and then being unplayably slow leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Thanks Plisken, thats the info I was looking for!! I have a modded ps2 so I think I?m going for the US or Korean doublepacks. Might have to get US Neowave to the box also since its region free.

Neowave is excellent. Best KOF on current gen consoles, IMO.
