Bleugh; grabbed the Jpn disc after reading the rave impressions a while back and had to eBay it shortly after cos I couldn't play for more than 15 mins without wanting to throw up

It's ace. It's what games do best: make you feel like you're having fun.

And it's original (a rarity these days).

        And the music is great.

        And it's funny.

Monkeyball clone!!!!? Monkeyball made me sweat. Katamari made me smile. Skill-wise, I would put monkey at 90%, KD at 60%. SMB is big skill, honed from playing over and over, KD is smashing balls until stuff moves out of the way. Perhaps reflected in the amount I have replayed each all the way through, (SMB: 10s of times, KD: two or three).

However, I love them equally, as any good parent would. One day I will play KD through again, and then again. It's one of the games I'd keep for my boy to play, just as soon as he knows his ass from his elbow...

One of the best PS2 games imo. The controls are a stroke of genius.

It's the way in which your ball gains inertia too which really makes it challenging.

I've still to play this... I mentioned it at the meet but nobody was listening, too busy playing Outrun 2

Had a quick hour go on this last night, and have to say it's refreshingly fun stuff!
The text, speech etc and general humour of the game is very appealing, not to mention the game system, rolling up them various objects is so addictive ^_^
This game just oozes pure fun. The controls for me are not an issue, just a matter of getting to grips with using two analogue sticks at once. I'm gonna have to start telling more people about this game!

Sorry about that. I also wanted to have a whirl on the Tekki stuff you graciously brought with you, but that got kicked into touch too. If you want to borrow it I'd be happy to lend it to you...

I had a go on Katamari at the meat... I don't know what you were doing to miss that one. I don't know who owned it, but played a level or so, seemed really fun. It's on my Christmas list following that

Yep, you're right - it's getting easier, although it does still feel like I'm wrestingly with the game a bit. I'm sure I'll get to love it over the Christmas holidays. Interestingly it sort of reminds me of Toy Commander (DC) in graphic style.
