For non-gamers, I don't think you can beat Eye Toy or Singstar.

I don't like singing, but Singstar is great. Eye Toy is so easy to use and everyone joins in. Girls, in general, love both games.

For people who play a few games, Mario Kart DD is great.

      Singstar > *

I've played these more with a few people than any other games I can think of in the past few years. It has this amazing thing that happens to everyone who plays it. For the first 10 seconds you feel like a twat, as soon as that goes *you are elvis*. Add beer and it just gets better.

As it happens we had our weekly bout last night, a mix of the original and the new 'party disc' and as usual it was fiercely contested and everyone ended up wasted. A 'same pitch as song' round of 'Girls just wanna have fun' very nearly killed me . As far as I'm concerned there is no better party game at the moment. Karaoke revolution games are ok, but the lack of original artists and videos make it feel far less polished.

Already said...but Eyetoy: Play, Groove work well. Mario Kart, Mario Party (all flavours tbh accross the N64 or GC) and Monkey Ball are all lengendary for 4 player sessions.

I've seen Eyetoy make people who have never even play a videogame play it because the control is so simple.

            I don't have a N64 anymore.
Me and a friend used to love setting out mines all over the place.

How is Rogue Agent in multiplayer mode?

Mashed isn't a patch on the original Circuit Breakers.
First off you have to play it on single player (dull) to unlock the multiplayer maps.
Secondly, all the races in it are in cars, as opposed to boats included in Circuit Breakers.
Thirdly the scenery isn't interactive or fun, like the Egyptian levels in circuit breakers, where you had to land on a floating raft etc.
Fourthly, there are hardly any maps, there are loads in Circuit Breakers.
And finally.... the maps you do have are only played straight through... where as in Circuit Breakers you can reverse them, and even turn them upside down, which means, in effect there are even more TONS of maps.

Right then, it is fair to say I was bitterly disappointed with Mashed!!!

Mario Tennis on N64 was for 2 and 4 player a game which me and family/friends would bet money on, so intense were the matches. The new version I would say is even better for party fun as the game seems to be much easier to get to grips with from the start, You can pull off wild winners with ease, so even non tennis fans will feel at home right away. Dont bother with the mini games though.

Singstar, as mentioned, is just THE best ice breaker after the initial 5 min embarrassment.

2 player WarioWare on the GBSP is underrated too. I have had many many laughs with friends on the tube or at work playing those mini games which are controlled by the l and r buttons at the top. Ridiculously simple, but great fun in short spurts, and makes you get close to the other player if that rings your bell!

I have a lot of love for Circuit Breakers, and played it loads while at uni. I love the music, the tracks and even little things like the car selection screen.

Yes, we had a copy of Circuit Breakers and a copy of Mashed the other night. It was Circuit Breakers that we played until the early hours!

Hey you can reverse and mirror the tracks, you just need to complete the game in single player, which sucks. Also the second to last level has something similar to a floating raft you need to land on...and then stay alive for a few seconds as it moves you to the next part of the track. Unfortunately Mashed was pretty poor after a few hours - the tracks just weren't good enough.

EyeToy Play 2 is a good laugh, but I don't think they've done a good job on the multiplayer side of things. I still don't understand what the fluff is going on in multiplayer, and never understand why whoever managed to win...single player is handled so much better.

For the best party game, you can't beat Wario Ware. Though Halo2 would always get my vote

Smash Bros. Melee and Mario Party both get my vote. Chu Chu rocket also deserves a mention.
