I'm the opposite, I love to watch people play games. I have sat through resi evil 3, watching someone else play. It's ace. It reduces the stress on yourself.

Of course, it helps if the player isn't a complete spanner.

Nah i'm not and neither is my flatmate.
I actuall wish my flatmate was a back seat gamer sometimes as yesterday i was playing MGS3 and crawling through the undergrowth, as you do, towards an electric fence.
After a while he started laughing to himself but i thought nothing of it as i was trying to tranc a guard in the crotch and then...

      *BANG*

Seems i'd crawled right into the most blatantly obvious landmine ever and he'd been sat there waiting for it to happen.... the swine.

I have a mate who does it. It's irritating enough when it's one of his games but when it's one of mine, that I've been playing for a couple of weeks and he'd never even seen prior to about an hour ago, it gets incredibly annoying.

"Pick up the shotgun! Go Right!"

        "Yes. I. Know."

I've found that a well placed smack in the nose with the controller shuts any back seat gamers up lickety split

But rather than being a 'back seat' person, I'm a co-op person. Defo my favourite way of playing. Online co-op is my holy grail. Team based games atm are pretty close, but online story mode co-op is where I want to be.

            Great stuff.
Exactly. I used to play that way with my brothers (playing through DOTT or Monkey Island as a team is a blast) and now do so with my old flatmate. We alternate the front seat on games - currently Fable (him) and HL2 (me) but soon Kotor2.
Any story co-op games (Balders Gate, etc) get eaten up in no time.
