Hmmm, yep it's all RR4 for me too. That was the ultimate in racing games for me. Beautiful style, fluid handling, great tracks, great soundtrack. It's perfect.

Yeah I'm an RR4 man myself. I want to play it now, but my PS2 has decided that all discs that aren't audio CDs or DVDs aren't Playstation or Playstation2 discs .

Oh well, an excuse to buy a nice new slimline one :P.

Isn't the title R:Racing Evolution not Ridge Racer Revolutions?

More importantly was it really a Ridge Racer game?

Music: This is a tough one. RR4's soundtrack for me was nigh on perfect with only a couple of tracks I didn't listen to and RRV had some stand out tracks.

I'd have to say Samurai Rocket from RRV closely followed by Move Me RR4 and Your Vibe RR4.

Special mention has to go to the credits music in RR4 and V which are completely fitting for their respective titles.

Track: Bayside Line RRV in the evening - has to be in the evening! with Wonderhill a close second.

Style: Has to be RRV, the whole thing is incredibly slick and pleasant to look at. It has two negative points though, the commentator as already mentioned and it doesn't have the much superior RR4 intro on it. That said the RR4 intro wouldn't feel right without the music and the music doesn't fit in with RRV.

Ridge Racers on the PSP looks like it has everything bang on, RR4 style intro, great music, handling the lot. A definite purchase for next year once my bank balance recovers from the xmas season

How anyone would want to even remotely consider purchasing RR on the DS is beyond me.

Not officially. The "R" in R: Racing Evolution was always pretty vague.

I'd say it was part of the series, but then Namco bottled it.

R: Racing was not a Ridge game. It was a nod to it to increase sales but it is not Ridge. Just play it to tsse the difference!

I know it's different, but it's heritage is clear.

Anywho, after all this talk of Ridge I booted up Ridge Racer type 4 and the music that plays during the replays gets me so pumped up watching it. Thats the best music in type 4.
