Sorry, I meant GX was harder. There is no Story mode in F-Zero X, I was saying that GX is brilliant because it is hard, unlike F-Zero X. F-Zero X is better for MP if you ask me, it's not too fast, and can make it much closer among friends unlike GX where one lucky strike or mess up ends the game...

After hundreds of hours of MP in X, I still find stuff, and talking to people recently, I think there are still many tricks and such like to find out.

I'm no good at driving games at the best of times, but F-Zero GX scares the living **** out of me.

      Daunting ain't the word.

I find the game a bit daunting as well. I've clocked alot of racers in my time but the speed of GX is just kerazee. I tend to turn it off after 15 minutes. Must sit down and really concentrate on it someday though. Didn't really get Scud Racer initially but love it to bits now.

Ironically, F-zero GX is the only cube game I still have. The rest have been sold. Make of that what you will.

Actually, make that GX / AX combined are the finest piece of gaming loveliness I've ever seen.

anyone know if the AX cab in Trocadero takes your memory cards? Or will it wipe 'em?

Ressurecting a fairly recent thread here.....

I have just been getting into F-zero GX again having had a crack in the past and then forgetting about it in favour of games I was better at perhaps!!

It is excellent, visually and sonically. Really gets you hyped!

I have one question though, on the confis screen where you trace the boundaries of the analogue stick - whats the deal with the blue circle in the middle that you can set with the D-pad? - I would like to have better control of my craft, it feels like the smallest push in one direction makes me fly across the track. I want to feel a little more contol of the craft - anyone?

It's the stick's dead zone, iirc. it is very twitchy, use a wheel actually, the full-on movement left and right makes it easier to powerslide that gives an overall advantage to your speed. it just takes a bit of getting used to

nah the gf would think i was mad if i had bongos and stuff.... AND a wheel, same reason I wouldn't get steel battalion!

So with the blue inner circle on the config am I better making it a big circle with the D-pad to stop me moving so drastically (or not?) or smaller, or not a circle at all? What's the best way to tweak it for teh n00bie!

With a bigger dead-zone, you need to move outside of that circle before the game thinks you're turning. If you've got the shakes, I guess that's a good thing but overall, you're making the distance between the outer-edge and initial movement smaller... so small is better.

It really is practice though bud. You up on powersliding and stuff? A visit to http://www.mrfixitonline.com/fzerox.asp might help (I can't check that from work, might be the wrong address >_< ).

I tried the wheel once, but since you can't get pedals for it in this country, continually holding the button on the face of the wheel while trying to steer was a painful experience. No thanks.
