I found it never felt as fun playing with others. Admittedly it did feel more ?natural? within the games? mechanisms? but for me personally I didn?t enjoy it as much. I suppose that is mainly due to I love spending as much time as possible in games exploring freely, randomly hitting things, experimenting, talking to NPCs, but once there were other players on screen, overly keen to progress, I felt rushed and unable to explore without restraint?

Depends who you play it with it would seem!

Certainly it worked better than Crystal Chronicles in single player mode, that game was completely broken with 1 player, but FourSwords is still very much a multiplayer game.

4 Swords is a great one player experience - kind of 'Zeldas Greatest Hits' package...and the 1-1, 1-2 etc design means its easily played in bite sized chunks.

I loved it to bits - shame it was a little too easy - how many force fairies can one man need Nintendo?

I think Four Swords is a brilliant game.
In single player you basically control only one link. The 'other three' characters are rarely used, unless you need them to open doors, provide extra firepower or temporarily provide an extra man at a different location to operate a switch or some such.

IMO the engine used in Four Swords could be put to even better use should the big N release the likes of Minish Cap / Link to the Past in an updated GC 2D form.

Anyone who passes up Four Swords thinking it's no good in single player will sorely miss out on a great game.

Been on the SP today at work, it's pretty basic stuff so far, i rescued one bizzatch.

Me & Teodi had an absolute riot with the JPN version.

Running around figuring out the puzzles was great fun, but the bigest pull and laugh a minute joy comes from the greedy/selfish **** that you become when money is involved XD

Getting the most rupees to become 1st is addictive and almost maddening toward the end of each section and you need 50 more to become 1st ^^

You start to employ theif tatics to maul the moolah out of the other guy, setting his arse on fire, chucking bombs in his face or using the boomerang to swipe them from under your nose as you sprint to the last purple one >_<

And then there are those moments, the one's were you die and all your hard stolen cash is spilled all over the floor naked, ready for the other guy to run up and take it. FOr example.

I then employed picking his Link up and throwing it off ledges to buy me time to pinch pretty coloured gems XD

And then tingle takes it all away when the both of you pop it.
