    Nintendo as bad as EA?

It doesn't surprise me the amount of criticism EA gets for releasing sequel after sequel (and they deserve it), but has anybody thought about Nintendo? Like EA they too bring sequel after sequel and yet not a word gets said, i mean it not like their **** don't stink! Take The Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine, Mario Party 6, Wave Race: Blue Storm, hardly gaming bliss. And there all sequels.

The situation isn't improving either, you know the usual protocol with their new systems, for example Mario 64 DS (and this is just the start) you'll soon get whacked with a sequel overdose.

With their new system well into development (the so called Revolution, yeah right) i wonder just what is going to be so revolutionary about this system? But it better be (a revolution) otherwise it's going to go down like a lead zeppelin. We'll what we can expect is sequel after sequel, thats for sure!

Everybody want's Nintendo to be where they were, at the top of the gaming industry again, i hope not! Otherwise we'll be going back in time. I'm glad Sony and Microsoft came into the gaming industry as they've given it a much needed kickup the arse!

Oh, and before Nintendo fanboys parade over this thread, i do own Nintendo systems myself! Don't know if i'll be getting the DS or Revolution (or whatever the **** it's going to get called) though.

If given the choice: if forced at gunpoint would you choose

    A: Zelda: wind waker

    or

B: Medal of honour : rising sun

    Hmm

if you chose B, you are an idiot.

Don't worry, if you avoid the new nintendo consoles you can always play project gotham 3, which will of evolved beyond all recognition in its 4th incarnation, or perhaps gran turismo 5, which will feature more cars and tracks. If driving isn't your thing, you could always opt for the 5th variation of grand theft auto or perhaps the 7th tony hawks skateboarding game which has the unique ability the fly planes.
If tekken 6 is your thing, don't worry its now multi format , so it'll be availible on all formats.

PLay it safe ,Get a PSP, I don't think there is one port or sequel in sight.

The difference is that Nintendo try new things in their sequels. EA simply rehash.

EA and Nintendo aren't the only guilty parties involved in constant rehashes.

In fairness, the same critisism could be levelled at Capcom... every post-SF2 beat-em-up has followed the same basic formula. However they, like Nintendo, generally try something new to justify the sequal (except perhaps with MSH Vs. SF).

                        some unique gamecube games:

                        Donkey Konga
                        Animal Crossing
                        Pikmin
                        Pacman VS
                        Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures
Wario Ware, inc.: Mega Party Games
                        ...

                        not bad

Wind Waker was amazing, it was gaming bliss for me

and at least Nintendo try to have a name for their console rather than the freakishly original Playstation THREE or Xbox 2!!!! **** me, talk about relying on a brand name. There's no denying Sony have a lot more interest in money than they do in originality...

You have just proved you can be no older then 12. I will leave this playground 'debate'.

For what it it is worth,EA and Nintendo are on completely different levels. Most Nintendo 'remakes' are infact quite original and although they use the same charachters are quite original and experimental. A high sequel number does not necessarily mean lacking originality. It can also imply innovation within the genre.

Even though Wind Waker was not the gaming bliss you soooo needed it to be it was still far more unique then countless Fifa games which were based on a consistently reused template.

Neither company is perfect and could do some things better but this is easy to say hard to do. I bet if I went trawling through the EA catalogue I would find some good stuff in there as well. If you think EA are 'bad' vote with your wallet.

And you then put down the Revolution!!!!
Have you seen it? Have you got one(I bet he/she will say "yes I have 2" to this!)? Do you know ANYTHING about it?

I have posted some **** threads in my time here but ****ing hell.

Acctually the Xbox 2 isn't going to be called that, but thats the mis-informed for ya

Never the less are Nintendo as bad as EA, well probably not but they certainly lack in the old ideas market, OK now and again they have a sudden shot of insperation or madness but they do overuse there character IP's many of which haven't been developed by them just pilfered through various dodgy dealings. Hang on then so acctually they probably are as bad as EA, I do have a Gamecube and I loved Nintendos past consoles but I am less and less impressed by there "original" titles and tend to buy more 3rd party games on the cube now.
