I don?t understand how Sony brain wash people. I've met so many people that have told me they only buys Sony products.

I'm not going to respond with a list of games are on which consoles, as it's unimaginative and highly based on personal opinion, as well as what sort of genres you like.

However I will ask why are exclusives important? No one complains when something is released on both VHS and DVD. Choice is good for the consumer invariably.

Not everyone can afford or even has the inclination of buying multiple consoles. To extend my example, I personally don't have a VHS player. Also, unless a developer is either pushing the boat out technically or has the prospect of a lucrative exclusitivity contract, it's not in their best interests necessarily to keep their game on just one platform and limit their user-base.

You might of course bemoan the fact that going multiplatform might harm the game technically. I would suggest that generally the sort of company who goes multiplatform isn't going to be the sort of company interested too much in technical prowess even if they stuck to a single platform. Most companies don't have the sheer resources or finances to be able to develop a visually resplendent game such as Ninja Gaiden.

There will always be a few companies who base their USP of their games on their visual splendor, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Personally, if more people could play Metroid Prime, Tekki and Disgaea, then I'd be delighted. The person might not enjoy them, but at least the person has experienced new and different titles and realises there is more to gaming than just one sort of game.

I'm not being a snob, I like my Aggressive Inline as much as the next person. However, if people are going to stick with games, they need to be introduced, gently, and without any snobbery to a bunch of various genres. A lot of gamers need educating, not about "correct taste/what to like" ?_? , but about the wonderful diversity of games that keep us coming back for more.

As a result, console exclusives are not necessarily a good thing.
