I know what you're saying but spending so much and finding a dead pixel would piss anyone off especially if ya spent it with your hard earned money.

Would you spend ?6k for a top of the range Plasma knowing that you had a dead pixel?

Sony really ****ed up with the manufactuing of this PSP console...

I'm beginning to think if it's the same process like they did with their PSX and PS2 consoles where they knack up after just over the 1 year grace guarantee period knowing that eventually, we would have to buy a PSP yet again to boost their PSP sales figures.

But it happens with all LCD technology! Its just not Sony!

The DS has dead pixels issues, TFT monitors have dead pixel issues, as do mobile phone screens and every single bit of technology that uses these LCD screens.

A couple of dead pixels arent a big problem, they are barely noticeable! No need to try so hard, just relax and play more

        Yeah, I should chill.

My last PSP was bad though. 3 dead pixels and a spec of dust and a weird raised bubble. It especially pisses me off when five of mates have perfect PSP's too and rub it in with me.

And my DS has been perfect too.

Quick question - whats the MAC address of the PSP if I wanna connect it to a wireless network?

It should tell you in the settings part of the menu iirc

You need to realize that your own experience with dead pixels does not parallel everyone else's. Many videophiles can attest that sometimes even one malfunctioning pixel or even a speck of dust trapped underneath a screen on certain TFTs can be an immersion-breaker, if it's prominently positioned and bright enough. Hell, we go to all the trouble of buying RGB or Component Video cables for systems instead of using S-Video, for the sake of less colour bleed and some sharpness...

Today, I had the pleasure of buying in four sealed Japanese PSP value packs in today at work and to my absolute amazement, all four Japanese PSP Value pack PSP's were absolutely flawless with none of this dead pixel, stuck deal pixel, dust under the screen or this weird raised bubble on the screen bull****.

I'm beginning to think that it might be true that the Jap PSP's are indeed made to a better standard over the US PSP's...

Or maybe it's just me, I'm a total jinx.

I just hope my 4th PSP that I'm getting soon really will be dead pixel free.

Remember when I got my PSP, DHL sent it to Inverness by mistake instead of Glasgow, well my mate just ordered one last week and they sent his to Inverness as well! How wrong is that, theres just no excuse!

Got it this morning with no tax, duty or handling fee to pay. I asked them to mark it down as a gift of $50, but they had a better idea and marked it down as a $50 'warranty repair'. Clever. You should get yours soon mate. Also a bonus is that my psp's screen is perfect with no dead spots.
Another recommendation for NCSX here too, I felt a bit let down by VG+ and the way they handled the preorders. NCSX offered a quick service and replied to emails very quickly - best still they sell the US version so no Gretsky game!!
