Got an email from Nintendo a few minutes ago about Age of Empires on the DS being in the Stars Catalogue for 5000 points. Log onto the Stars Catalogue right away - and it's already sold out. Maybe sending the email THE DAY BEFORE release might have been an idea, eh Nintendo?

was just about to post exactly the same thing. Only received the email 15 minutes ago and was sold out when I went to the website. I've been waiting and waiting for something decent to come up (i.e. not wallpapers and ringtones) and when it does I miss it!

Wow, 5000 Stars. That's 20 games worth of points. I was too late too, didn't help that the message landed in my jumk email folder though.

I think I've got over 10,000 points stocked up, which must have 'cost' me a fair few quid (around ?1200 if you say that it's 250 points per average ?30 game).

I realise that Nintendo have no obligation to offer us anything, but I would very much like Age of Kings, and I can't afford to buy it at the moment. I haven't had a text or email from them regarding this (the last I heard from them was the Wii launch date).

They could at least have enough copies available so that all the people who have 5000 points or more COULD get a copy if they wanted to. Even one RRP ?30 would feel like reward for four and a half years of buying new copies of Nintendo released games (not to mention a GB player, an SP, two DS Heavies and 1 Lite)...

I got lucky with this one now I just have to wait for weeks until it arrives. I haven't used any points since 2003 when I got the Zelda collectors pack. Are they going to carry on this system with Wii games do you think. It seems to annoy a lot more people than it pleases.

I think it annoys people because of the stupid amount of the good stuff they put on there, it's like 100 copies, when that's for the whole of europe!

It would be a good idea if Nintendo used the stars catalogue to enable you to download the NES/SNES/N64/MD games for the Wii & pay with your points.

I think that's what we're all hoping for.
It would be such a sensible and well received idea that I can't see it happening however....

I'll have to ask... but several people on the YakYak boards knew for starters. They must have gotten it from somewhere now...
