It being portable does bring something new to the game, theres no doubt about that. Being able to play it anywhere, anytime, whenever you feel like it is a major plus, that Ridge remains just so damn good is also a factor. Id be quite happy playing some of my favourite games in portable form, with little to differentiate them to their full grown parents, but as it is, in Ridges case at least, there is also enough new elements added to keep it feeling fresh.
The Rotterdam Remix is just mental too.

two votes for lumines and minna de golf
lumines is an addictive little puzzler that can be played for hours or minutes
minna de golf is japanese heavy but easy enough to figure out and plays a mean little game of golf with lots of unlockables
ATM i dont own a home console just a ds and a psp and they get equal play time with ridge lumines and golf plus gba games zoo kepper and yoshis catch and touch and daigasso band brother with the mrs
quality times

Yeah you have to admit that Ridge has so much staying power, what with being able to play it online over Xlink. It truly is a special peice of kit the Psp and it has it's own value with being able to play online games for nothing, the lobby that is missing with the games is there on Xlink and I have never had such a blast with any console.I really do love the PSP, it's given me months of fun already and Minna no Golf online is so, so addictive!!!
Try online Ridge Racers over Xlink Kai marcus, you will love it!!

It must be the launch psp's that suffer from this shoulder problem or the initial batches of the machine, as i have no prblems with mine or my square button, in fact I'd go as far to say, that the console os absolutely perfect. The shoulder buttons on mine are respnosive and work well, the square button is the same, wherever i press it.
My screen also has no dead pixels and my anologue nub is not falling off after heavy use either.I also have no scratches n the front of the console and I have dropped the machine fromstanding height when I was being too careful with it and it works perfectly. It is not as fragile as you think , my mate dropped his whilst riding hi bike and asides from the scratch on the side of his unit, it still works perfectly. He also uses it whilst running and it works perfect them too, the laser shows no problems due to all that movement and the machine seems built to last.It only looks fragile because of that shiny front, but that is why it is so sexy, the shiny front and the big screen.perhaps black is a bad colour for showing the fingerprints though and that does annoy me, the marks of greasy palms and fingers on it.I will be buying a white unit as soon as they become available for that reason alone. But hey it's a Sony machine and we are used to buying loads of them.

I like the idea of revisiting some old favourites (Metal Gear Solid would be welcome along with some of the PSX Square classics).
Also I prefer the idea of some games in PSP format. I'm no great fan of Gran Tourismo to be honest and would hardly touch it on the PS2 before moving on to something else. But the thought of playing the PSP version, playing through, over a long period of time (just an hour here and there) is very appealing. I also know that I would spend much of my PSP playing time at home, rather than on the move.
I also think it will entice me back into some games I never play at home anymore (such as RPG's) just like the GBA did.Last edited by Gareth C; 16-03-2005, 19:57.

Just been watching a few videos from the final version posted by IGN.
Looks like a return to old school Wipeout. A serious return to form.
The intro and front end design just screamed quality futurism. Nothing of the naff feel Fusion gave over - just that distant, clinical design that the series has always thrived on.
Can't wait.
