lol, to be honest you could do, to quote peepshow:

"Is that it, Is that how easy it is to steal some education, bloody hell whos in charge. The worlds just people walking around going into rooms and saying things, its all a big swizle"

Peepshow rules. I don't know if i could blend in though because in my lectures theres about 240 people whereas there only seems to be a handful with the computer games people (could be wrong though)

cheers. Off TOPIC: when you heading home? when all hand ins are done you intrested in some 16player halo link up?

Best thing to do is have a strong portfolio and go direct to companies, I agree with Szczepaniak most ads are like that. The industry is in a bit of a mess (my opinion).

          It's true! So very true...

I found out, at the age of 25, that I really had nothing to do. My life was boring and my job was ****. I ditched it all, moved to liverpool and claimed my free MA in digital games. It was the best thing I ever did.

          I'm a tester now...

Last exam's May 30th. Staying up here for 2 weeks after I graduate just to get drunk! Definately up for some Halo after that. I'll get some of my mates up here too!

Looking through the latest Edge I have (the pink one) I see...

SCEE: Experience with Maya and track record an advantage
Rockpool: Experienced professionals and recent graduates
Venom: Good track record or good degree-level qualifications
Rare: Previous experience with Maya an advantage

So none of the advertised places *require* experience. However, with all the closures (Elixir closed today) there are a lot of experienced artists/coders in the market which makes it hard to compete. Aiming for smaller - mobile - developers might be a good idea.

I'm only really interested in working on the xbox 3. Maybe I should lower my standards.

Things we don't particularly look for:

                    * Qualifications in the relevant subject (they can help, but aren't essential!).

Bizarre made me do a task (build an entire street) in one week. it was tough and I didn't really have enough time to do it to the standard I normally do (I was working at the time) and they just turned me down anyway. Way to completely waste 40 hours of my life.

You'd hate the games industry then.

yeah. maybe, but I like to think of myself as quite speddy at modelling and texturing but 1 week to build 10 full buildings, texture them and build all street furniture and roads etc.

                          Thats a bit much really.
