Doesn't really help, I like to keep all that stuff. Why the hell don't we have it. Pisses me off.

    Late and incomplete, nice...

The Zelda article was great, but why oh why oh why do Edge interview all these developers churning out forgettable FPS? There seems to be at least one such interview every month!

The issue was great on the whole though.

...and if EDGE were a tech magazine, that would be an excellent reason for including so many FPS-developer interviews...

I agree! All these interviews with boring untalented techy people( fps creators) that for some reason don't know anything but how to speak bull**** really pisses me off. Edge treat lots of obscure devcos like demi-Gods- and praise work on games you just know are going to be total ****e.

Edge need to be more in tune with the readers. 50% of the mag is enjoyable- but the other half is yawnsome

One last thing. Why the hell do some of the writers try so hard to be intellectual when they just come across as sad desperate geeks!

That's just it, mate. You know half these games will turn up a few issues later sporting a 5/10 score.

In any case, it's just another FPS, much like the last one from the last devco you visited. Who is it Edge thinks is actually interested in all these bland, samey FPSs?

I guess they're trying to cover all bases. I was looking through some old issues yesterday, and the articles were much more interesting and imaginative. They did more than interview someone making boring driving games and first person shooters every month.

I think they're OK. Not quite up to the standard of the last team, but they're getting there.

I don't think (a few obvious exceptions aside) the EDGE writers come across as desperate geeks because of their perspicacity and allusiveness - they're just trying to write in a style that's rare for the medium they cover, outside of Wired etc.

Popping a few obscure archaic words in to the mix just gives me a headache. The writers seem strained to out-do each other with clever prose that just annoys me!

There's nothing wrong with being intellectual- but when it comes across as false and laboured it stands out like a sore thumb.

I feel that sometimes. But reading the latest issue recently, I found myself thinking: that point is beautifully expressed.

Edge often nails a very complicated or abstract observation in a single sentence... and I always find myself thinking, Where else could I see that in games journalism?
