Some people just don't get on well with more abstract experiences. Rez-Cosmic Smash and Psyvariar- these games seem cold and confusing to a lot of people. To fans though they are deep warm echanting game worlds full of wonder.

PNO3 is a game that you will either fall in love with- or walk away thinking " What is all the fuss about? "

It seems the opinions of PN-03 are very divided.. heh

I never got the chance to see or play it when my friend had it a year or two ago, he detested it, and only played it a couple of times, I might pick it up cheap and see what the fuss is about, the video looks pretty cool, and I'm all up for one of those pattern based memorisation affairs, seems to be the type of game I excel at.

i love pn03 - it's 3D space invaders set in kubrick's 2001, plus a hot booty - how can you go wrong! i'd be the first to point out it's rough around the edges, but it's a solid shooter + eye candy nonetheless.

when you're playing well with vanessa you can get into a rythmn of movement that's almost balletic... try not to think of it like an action game; think of it more like a game of chicken. 'bullets' will always be flying, but they won't always hit you...

by constantly dodging, backflipping, jumping & rolling you can move *through* the predictable attack patterns, carving up the opposition, without 'turtling' at vantage points. when you've got mad skills, utilizing the 'invincible' frames of animation will let you take this to the extreme.

obviously you should make use of cover, but you'll need to take put yourself in 'harms way', break those bots off some, then rely on your dodging abilities to get out before you take damage... once you're got hang of the controls, natch! dodging isn't something you should be doing occasionally; you can work most of the rooms without much 'normal' movement at all...

every room & opposition 'team' will fall easiest when you've found a strategy that works them as a group, and the room as a whole; all of these involve making best use of your abilities (which are variable), the environment, and knowing when and where the 'gaps' will appear. like with a classic shump you need to study the patterns & the terrain...

it looks simple but it isn't as easy to breeze through as the inital levels (on normal difficulty) would have you think - especially when you consider having a play-through using the last, oh-so-skimpy suit...

i must say with so many games such as pn03/ psyvarier/gun valkirie i really doubt i would have really got into them if i didnt see gameplay vids of how they should be played

psyvarier i did not see the fuss to begin with i just treated it as a normal shooter just destroying everything but one day i tried the replay mode and while the replay was not that good it did show me how the game works since then i was addicted

gunvalkirie i though was very very hard to begin with the controls just seemed insane
one day i left the title screen on while i went to get a cup of tea i came back and it was showing a gameplay replay on the first level which was very very good since then it gave me something to aim for

pn03 looks to be the same after watching that ace saurion vid i can see how the game really works

You either love P.N.03, or you hate it. I've never met anyone who was in the middle. Myself, I ****ing loved it. I have all the suits save for the last naughty one, and now that I'm reminded about it I really should go back and finish that up. Such a fantastic game.

My mate has just coughed up for a new used car, his reg. plate is PN03 MNE

The game is a cracker in my book. I don't have any ****e on my shelf, or even any reasonably good games.

Just as I was editing this post I dropped the big end of a jumbo sausage from my greedy mouth into a pool of baked bean juice splashing it all over my shirt and keyboard. Mint.

ok played it alot until i could do the first training level without getting hit starting to understand the nature of the game now
one thing in these action games i love such as with dmc3/god of war/pn03 is gaining enought points/red orbs etc so i can buy new abilitys for me that is all the incentive i need to try to get good at a game

depends on which version you've got...

US / PAL, 'professional' is the highest. for JPN, 'destroyer' is the highest rank... i think. it's been a while since i booted either up!

when you get the option to play the training levels at the end of each normal level, do it! it's the best way to start learning real skills... there are 5 training levels and each is unlocked by obtaining the highest rank on the previous one.
