Where is Tetris thesedays? There was a time when it was on every format under the sun. Now we have Puyo Puyo on every format under the sun, and unfortunately in it's rather flawed 'Fever' form.

Tetris DS anyone? That portrait format screen is just begging for it.

I can't remember the required actions to do that , a certain amount of lines

155 is my record, the B mode used to have the rocket all the time though.

if anyone plays 'tetrinet' (6 player TCP/IP multiplayer Tetris) I'm game

154 lines on black and white Tetris. Usually only get to 125 or so. I can't handle it once the speed maxes out.

                  203 on Tetris GB

                  Doubt I'll ever beat that!

                      my scores:

                      A-type game:
265 lines, slightly over 500.000 points
167 lines in high speed mode (starting at level 9-heart).

                      B-type game:
                      level 9 high 5
level 9 high 4 in high speed mode
level 9 high 4 using only left hand
level 0 high 0 while simultaniously beating my sister at Tetris Battle Gaiden on a snes...

for whoever didn't know yet: to activate high-speed mode keep down pressed while pressing start on the title-screen. you get a heart symbol next to the level number and pieces drop 10 levels faster (so level 9-heart = 19).

level 20 is the highest level. after you've reached level 20 the speed remains constant and you don't get level-ups anymore.

i'm a girl and i have yet to meet my match in Tetris. hell, except for one masochist (his words), my male gaming friends refuse to play it with me nowadays... but generally speaking i (reluctantly) agree...

                      score.
                      100.000+ = small rocket
                      150.000+ = medium rocket
                      200.000+ = large rocket
                      B-type level 9 high 5 = space shuttle

the 200.000+ rocket is still far smaller than the shuttle you get for completing level 9 high 5 in B-type game, but as far as i've seen it's the biggest you can get in an A-type game (that is, 500.000+ didn't get me a bigger rocket than 200.000).

Fever mode is only for versus and actually makes the game not **** (unlike the old ones) - which you can disable anyway both in the arcade (hold both buttons for both players while it loads) and on the console. Single player score attacks (rubbish) don't have Fever mode, since you can't offset attacks :/

I can't bring myself to play gameboy tetris anymore. I have a stickerless cart lying around and played it in my SP from time to time but I'd rather be in the pub.

                            Still, no excuse.

Just got Tetris out on my ****ty old B&W gameboy and got 98 lines. It was also the most boring hour of recent weeks. Never again.

EDIT: Just seen the Nathan Barley dig. Ho ho ho!

Strange that. Personally, playing it again has made me love the game even more, it's such a pure gaming buzz. It does get a bit boring after a while though.

Don't take it that way mate, it's not a dig - it was just the first thing that came into my mind when I saw your website. No offense meant.
