    Great pictures Mofoman

Tell me, were the majority of the fighting games 'back-to'back' cabinets (with the 2p controls removed), so that you and your opponent were at either side?

I love this whole memory card idea for the arcades.

one day... until then i'll watch lost in translation again..

nice to see you enjoyed it!
            Nice pictures Mofoman.

Boggy : you should get yourself out there as it is totally amazing. I didn't think Lost In Translation did the place justice so if you liked it from that you will be totally blown away in person. I can't wait to go back (for my 3rd time) - luckily i've got under 7 weeks to wait ...

On my first trip I found some cool arcades in Kyoto where you could play some old classics (Splatterhouse, Final Fight) for 20p a credit!

Its sad to know this could never happen in Blighty.

Yeah mostly all of them were like that, and after lengthy battle's of VF 4 FT, and Street Fighter 3, I was always tempted to be a bit British and peek round and give the opponent a smile. One game I kicked ass at over there was Power Smash 2, it felt really good actually being able to not spend like twenty wuid on a mutiplayer session of one game.

You know what it's like when you are getting hammered, you have to have one more go......just for the satisfaction of winning once,LOL!!

Couple more pics, sorry they are not arcade, I'll not post anymore here.

Yeah I had some great fun at night's in Ueno when trailing the back market street's and going off the main track and found some great retro arcade's, they were still 100 yen a shot but it was worth it when there were floors worth of the beggers!

Final Fight, Ghosts n Goblins, Dungeons and Dragons, Strider, you name it you can probaby find it there. The shop in Akiba that sells all the PCBS, right at the end on the second floor, although it is expensive, you can find many of the older pcb's to buy there as wwell, and what is amazing is they come with all the marquee stickers and everything. They also have cabs there where you can try the games out.It has everything from naomi one, to CPS2, to Bubble Bobble, it really is an amazing store, there is an awesome retro store two doors down from it too, well hidden, you have to go into an apartment to get to it,hehe...only in Japan!

I'm going to Japan for the first time in September, really looking forward to it.

I take it I turn up in Akihabara and the streets are paved with cheap rare Sega Saturn games and Wondermegas?

Great pics Mofoman It's great to see and read about how succesful Arcade gaming still is in Japan. You hit the nail on the head when you said arcade gaming is a great night out. As a gamer with a passion for good arcades it would be great to spend an evening with passionate gamers having epic battles etc....

I've never been to Tokyo- but I will visit sometime. It would be great staying in some luxury hotel and venturing in to Tokyo gaming districts in search of gaming delights!

You still have a to search a little, let me know when you are ging and I will try and tell you the cheapest places, never impulse buy in Akiba, you will most likely find somehwre that has it a few thousand yen cheaper down the road, round the corner, or on the sixth floor, hehe.

There are lots of Saturn and Mega Drive game though, and cheap systems.
