Shooters and other neglected genre's for Pal PS2

I really wanted to like silpheed on the PS2.. But it's crapness finally overwhelmed me..

Hence my recommendation to import the Cave games ... but also because you won?t find that kind of manic gameplay in any PAL release.

If you get the ability to play import games, Gigawing Generations and Twinkle Star Sprites are certainly worth a poke as well.

I would recommend buying Japanese/Asian hardware rather than getting your PAL hardware chipped as a chipped machine doesn't always play the games you want! Only then will you be in shoot em up heaven.

What about other neglected genre's? I am after unique games- be they 2D platformers or surreal Rez type experiences that have been released in Britain only to be lost amongst the Metal Gears and Need For Speeds!

Basically I want to know about hidden gems that I should buy!

Sorry about all this Pal business- but I probably will be importing some of the games mentioned- especially the Cave shooters!

I?m not sure if they?re neglected or not, but you should really try to find the two Maximo games. Great gameplay, great artwork - fun all the way

and the 2nd Maximo game (better of the 2 imo) is only a fiver in GameStation new. I have to say Klonoa 2 is probably my favourite PS2 game, it's just that good!

I used to have Maximo- and really enjoyed it, so I will probably pick it up again along with the sequel.

Klonoa 2 looks good- It's quite expensive at the moment- though I should be able to find a bargain!
