Also, do you get like a month free of Live with the console or any of the games? And does live silver work from the UK on a US machine, thus confirming Live 360 is region free?

Anyone pre-ordered from Play.com? I've read through the last 10 pages but no mention of Play.com...

I've recieved no email or anything from them so I don't know whats going on!

My colleague called them about an hour ago. The conversation went something like this (call him 'H'):

H: How many of your pre-orders are you likely to be able to satisfy?
P: Less than one percent.
H: Really!? How many units are you getting?
P: Two-hundred.
H: How many pre-orders do you have?
P: Thirty-five thousand.
H: ...
H: Am I likely to get one?
P: Did you order in June?

Those figures sound ridiculous, but stranger things have happened. Now, I overheard enough of the conversation to know that my colleague is not winding me up, but I can't be so sure about the folk at Play.com. They could be fed up of people asking, so they may have decided to exaggerate some figures. Nevertheless, the essence of it is probably true - even if you were first in the queue when the price was announced, it doesn't sound as if you'll get one. I didn't order until the 26th of August...

I went into the Game where I pre-ordered as I hadnt heard a thing since paying a deposit.

Apparently I am ninth on the list and will definitely get one. I pre-ordered COD2 today as the manager said that they werent going to be getting many games in due to the small numbers of consoles they will have next week.
He seemed to suggest that they were expecting the consoles to arrive on Monday, whether thats true or not I dont know.

Daily call to Game. The leaflet thing doesn't mean a thing according to them and when I asked what their allocation was I was put on hold for a bit. Bloke came back and said they're not allowed to tell customers what their allocation is.

Have visited my local TRU today, and finally got confirmation that all 30 pre-orders the store had will be met on launch day. (I am number 1 on the pre-order list)

However the bad news is they are only offering "added value" bundles that can only be described as a joke. For ?399 I will get a premium pack, Amped 3, King Kong and two DVDs (Last Samurai & The Italian Job). Unless I can somehow negotiate a different bundle with the manager on release day, I will not be buying from TRU.

I have been told all along by TRU staff that the bundles would be the same as the Internet. To be told 6 days before launch they are not is really disappointing. Looks like no 360 for me, unless I can bag one at midnight from the local Tesco or Asda.

just spoke to bobby "fake name" Peru, I am 100% getting my 360 on release day. Sweet as.

I know its only a core , so even if my woolies order falls through then I am fine.

Sorry guys dont have a digital camera.

Can confirm though that there is no region lock with regards to Xbox Live.

Not sure about the free month of live though, will have to check and get back to you.

Latest rumour seems to confirm this and that there will be loads of Cores sent to the stores for next Friday.

Great to hear about no region lock though! That is awesome! And yeah please get back to us as that would temporarily fix my problem. Also, are you on Gold? And if so did you transfer your Original Xbox live account accross? Was it a UK bought account?

word! got my confirmation today that i'll be getting the core from gameplay on or before the 2nd.Oh and i did'nt pre-order the king kong bundle,just the machine on it's own,and they still said that would be with me on release date.

Game in town wouldnt let me reserve either when I went in at lunch.

lol! i'm in the same boat as you.I phoned game earlier and they said they will have the hard drive and headset in stock on the 2nd,as long as get my ass down there at 9am.

Out of interest Daps,did you pre-order the king kong bundle or just the machine on it's own?
