I'm tempted to order a core pack from Gameplay, but I'm apprehesive about doing so if it ends up being out of stock... it'd be a double whammy, missing out on the full 360 and waiting the same time for both allocations to return again.

yea i had the "awaiting processing" last night,but by 10am this morning i had an order number and an estimated shipping date.

This morning GAME head office sent out an email to all stores guaranteeing that all deposits on 360s would be filled, looks like people that pre-ordered with GAME in store are safe. The branch I work in also recieved 16 Premium packs today with the rest due tommorow.

Just 'phoned Gameplay - they report that I'd be 'very unlikely' to get a Core Pack on release if I placed an order now.

Also, do you get like a month free of Live with the console or any of the games?

I've read over on the scary official Xbox forums that some packs had this in, others didn't.

It was difficult to figure out amongst all the waffle, but apparently when you connect the console it gives you the option for a months free trial of Gold. From what I could gather if you didn't take them up on it there and then, there was still an option under the Xbox Live blade to sign up for the trail.
