The dreamcast is the best thing ever because it is home to one of the most amazing games on the planet.

    Samba de amigo

Cracking machine. You'll be needing Soul Calibur, Ikaruga, Power Stone and Bangaio for starters but there's a mountain of great stuff available. Crisp visuals, loads of fun-as-hell arcade games and absolutely smashing arcade sticks are the icing on the cake.

I love the Dreamcast. You can get them incredibly cheap now if you're going for a PAL machine. Expect to pay about ?20-30 depending on the condition, boxed or not etc.

Crazy Taxi with the wheel is imo the best in home arcade experience outside of Neo Geo. Can't have any more fun without shapes & lube.

TBH ive heard some dessent towards the official wheel, on on a few games its a bit off, but with Ferrar F355 you have imo (save for maybe pedals) the ultimate driving sim.

For one it's a great looking little machine. Secondly the Joypads are excellent with the funny little vmu's you plug in that display little LCD pictures on the screen as you play. Thirdly it has a broad range of fantastic fun games.

If you like fighters and arcade action go for Power Stone 1&2- Capcom Vs SNK 1&2- Guilty Gear- plus many others!

The machine is home to lots of excellent shooters. Ikaruga is the daddy- with others like Psyvariar- Zero Gunner 2 and Border Down.

There are just so many fun games to buy. The graphics through RGB are still fantastic- with a sharpness and clarity rarely seen on other machines.

Last but not least it can output VGA through the vga adapter and this makes games look even better. Just play Soul Calibur in VGA and witness how brilliant the game still is!

You can play virtua tennis by just looking at the VMU if i remember correctly.

Toy Commander is also a lot of fun if you have four friends willing to play deathmatch with you. Driving your little car up a wall and onto the ceiling whilst your friends fire marker pen missiles at you never seemed to get old.

failing that you could get one of those black DC - imho black is better than off white std one..

The black one looks like a MegaDrive128bit- which isn't bad, but I prefer the nice subtle white one!

The DC has some truly outstanding games, the last of Sega's golden era of gaming. That is reason enough in itself as the Sega of today are a mere shadow of their former self

I agree totally with Kongster. Some of the early to mid Dreamcast stuff is gold. I think near the end they started to lose it slightly and IMHO for Sega it's been downhill ever since.
