X-Box Game of Choice?

All depends on what you like, gov. I could recommend games that I like, but that doesn't mean you'll like it. On a general level, I feel confident recommending Gotham Racing, Buffy, JSRF, MechAssault, RalliSport, etc. Just depends on your tastes.

I have to thrust my hand up in the air shouting ORTA YOU MUST HAVE ORTA!!!!

It really is THAT good and keeps me coming back for more time and time again. I loved REZ and that still gets an awful lot of playtime, but ORTA does blow it away in more ways than just audio/visually.

GV is awesome too. You could pick it up cheap on eBay too, I think I got mine for about a tenna!

Splinter Cell is a bit of alright an all for stealth/adventure.

Moto GP 2 is the only choice for a racer on Xbox though.....

PDO is a good one but may i reccamend Tom clancys splinter cell? It is really good. And has really sucked me in to the world of sam fisher.

Thanks to the wonderfully prompt Lordcookie, I suspect there is an Amped waiting at the post depot for me (Parcel Farce managed to get a slip into my letterbox saying they failed to deliver 2 parcels this morning in the ten minutes between me feeding the cat and leaving while I was upstairs getting dressed). I'll let you know what I think when I've had a go myself.

Amped is unlike any other snowboarding game out there - its incredibly deep and just sucks you in.

my first impressions of it were -- damn this is too bloody slow (after playing the snowboarding ensemble starting with coolboards, moving onto Steep Slope Sliders, then onto 1080, and finishing on ssx tricky) but its meant to be that pace, its all about the tricks/combo's rather than getting from A to B as fast as possible

games which i consider should be in any xbox gamer's library

Gunvalkyrie - a real gamer's game. hard to master, and yet once mastered this game is at the epitome of next gen gameplay.... brings it all back to the old-school on your ass -- you know when stuff wasn't handed to you on a plate and you had to work to gain perfection

Panzer Dragoon Orta - Smilebit score another goal with yet another gamer's game --- it hurts that they can reach the spot time after time. beautiful to look at, a joy to control and the story will suck you in. highly recommended.

Project Gotham Racing - people head into this one thinking its just your average racing game, and then they come away feeling disappointed. Well f**k them - this game is arcade heaven. its all about the combo's, linking slides with overtaking with 360's with .... you get the picture.. first time you combo an entire lap will have you grinning for weeks

Fatal Frame - horror at its best (not survival horror but psychological, in ya face, don't play it with the lights off horror). A game which slipped past too many people's radar but just ask those i have recommended it to in the past if its a good un

Enclave - this game is bloody hard .... but persevere with it and you will find a little gem. hack and slash action adventure with tons of levels - and once you finish the light side you do it all again from the dark

Orta is essential. Soundbite: does for the shoot-em-up what Halo did for the firstperson shooter.

Jet Set Radio Future will give you endless daydream fantasies, and is worth it for that alone.

Fatal Frame is fantastic, PDO is fantastic. Personally, I'd think twice about Halo

After Halo the most essential game on the XBOX is PDO for me (oh and its better than Rez )

Don't... You'll only get Chad and the pro-Rez crew starting another seven page "why we think Rez is better"-type thread.

But yes, I'm along with the other Orta fans here.

PDO is my favourite game (closely followed by Halo) on the Xbox, and both of those alone are worth the purchase of the system (IMO).
