        thanks Huxley

went into Woolworths today and checked the price of Snooker and it was still at ?19.99 in my local store

went to the desk and asked if they did a deal on the 1gig card to which she instantly said yes, i thought wtf why not advertise it anyway she told me the card was ?100 unless i bought a game then it would be ?50

also asked about the 512meg card for a fellow member and they were currently sold out of the 512meg card

bought Snooker and the 1gig card and the snooker rang up on the till at ?29.99 - told her that it was still ?19.99 on the shelf, to which she checked and went yes thats okay and charged me the ?19.99 for it and called over her boss to change the shelf price

As i was leaving i'm sure the other girl was already amending the price for that game - since the deal seems to be over

cheers buddy - thanks for the info damn you to hades for not using your discount

Just been into my local Woollies (Kircaldy) but Snooker's back up to ?34.99 (damn, damn, damn!!! Memo to myself - go in earlier next time a promo is on). The half price deal was on for 512mb cards but still waiting stock of 1gb cards.

The only good point (not) was that my 3yr old son learnt some new words. They were playing a dance tune over the p.a. system that ran for 3 minutes and throughout the same lyric was repeated continually every 3 second or so - 'Motherf**cker raise the pressure!' How pissed off was I?ft:

Guess they must be trying to get hip with da kids!

Man - you didn't complain about that ? Evidently the manager was off and some little ****stick in the shop decided he wanted to play his choons.

Nah, the staff seemed to have suddenly made themselves scarce - probably all rushing to turn the cd player off.....probably for the best really as I turn into a right nippy sod when I get annoyed and would probably have introduced a few more words into my son's vocabulary.

I'd have thought that there'd be some kind of broadcasting laws that would've prevented them playing music full of expletives? Mind you, If I'd been in on my own I'd have probably laughed my ass off!

I'm thinking about contacting their Customer Relations people and complaining about just how naughty they've been. Maybe if I kick up enough fuss (mention Watchdog & the local papers) they'll chuck me one of these nice 1gb memory sticks??

Anyone in manchester managed to get one. Stockport won't recognise the offer, i've tried twice this week.

Damn. I was going to head into Stockport tomorrow and pick one up. Maybe get the staff to check their promotions thing as huxley advised?

sounds like 'dr pressure' the recently replease remix of mylos drop the pressure.
the original lyric is "mother****ers gonna drop the pressure" but the radio version, whilst sounding verysimlar, doesnt say that, it sounds more like "mothertucker" or someting

Thats the thing to do gents, stock is getting very low in most areas on this one. Get in quick. Spoken again today with my EUK rep who has posted the problems you guys have had to the rest of the reps in the UK. So all thats left is to have a fit in the store.

Well, just visited the EK store - The games all have a flash on the cover which states you can get a 0.5 gig stick half price - no mention of 1gb. Asked the guy instore if the offer applied to 1gig to which I got the reply "Yeah mate I wish we did".......

Anyone got a correspondance email for HO ? This is a farce.

Off to ebay - I'll get one there for ?50 all in.

Yeah I went to the store in Stockport ready to give them some **** if they didn't comply and I too noticed that it only mentioned the 512mb deal. Didn't really matter anyway cause they'd sold out of both types of card

I went into my nearest Woolies today, and was pretty impressed. Lots of PDF's, and a clear display making it clear the deal applied to both 512 and 1gig sticks. Checked on the price of snooker, and it was of course back up to ?34.99

Still, whilst this particular store was currently out of stock, after buying wipeout they jotted down my details, and will contact me when they get a 1gig stick back in stock. Meanwhile I'll be getting a nice ceramic white psp next week, and swapping wipeout for a nice copy of burnout when its released.

I'll be phoning up the store every other day to check on the memory stick situation, as I havent got great confidence in them phoning me back anytime soon.

It was made clear to me that the deal is still available to customers if you hang onto your receipt, even if the deal ends while youre waiting for the stock, so my advice would be to go buy any old game, put the receipt in a safe place and grab a bargain.

Thanks for the heads up on this one Huxley. Much appreciated.
