Is it easier to press the diagonal directions on the dpad? e.g. in Darkstalkers.

The dpad feels more like a PS2 joypad, as mentioned earlier on in this thread. However, I still wouldn't recommend beat-em-ups on it. I found guilty gear near impossible to play (maybe the fact I'm crap at it doesn't help either )

Too right! I played Darkstalkers and it was a nightmare. Yet saying that, i also played Street Fighter Alpha 3 for the GBA and that was just as bad. For me beat em up's on handhelds is a no no.!! These types of games are to be played with a ****-hot arcade stick and a big **** off screen!

Hate to say it, but handheld beat-em-ups need an EO Mode to combat the crap controls. Even though EO takes away the skill and challenge factor, it makes handheld beat-em-ups more practical.

I've just got my white PSP. It's the first time I've played one so I can't compare it to any other model, but I'd say the d-pad is pretty cack. Diagonals are hard to reach and it's not as responsive as I'd like. Star Soldier is a nightmare with it so I stick to the analogue stick.

I suppose that is true, EO is the gaming equivalent of having stabilizers fitted to your bike and all, but I can't help thinking that knowing when to use a special move is more important than being able to input the commands for a special move (especially on a machine such as the PSP).

A mob made up of (roughly) one thousand 2D beat-'em-up purists will, of course, burn me for the above comments.

EDIT: Oops, I've gone way off topic here, so, just for the record the White PSP is a nice bit of kit and as has been stated before the d-pad is a little bit better than that of the black version. It's still not perfect for 2D beat-'em-ups though.

Hi, I ordered mine from http://www.otaku.com yesterday for ?164 delivered. It got sent out that day too. I've ordered from them before so i trust them. Alex is a good guy (he'll mark down anything if you ask), i've also ordered my Shadow of the Colossus (w/bonus disc) from them. Great site.

I never asked if he could check my PSP for dead pixels before shipping, but i suppose you could always ask him!

Sorry to go off-topic, but have you got a link for that? I can't see it on the site.

Hi, the game isn't advertised on there site at the moment, i just sent them an email and asked if they could get it for me. You should drop them an email and ask if they can get you a copy. I'm sure they will!

Wow... while the black PSP is a rather sexy piece of gaming hardware, the white version of it looks even better. If I ever get a PSP again, I'm definitely going to get a white one.
