Thought I would dig out this old thread as people seem to scatter their car boot finds all over the forum each week. Saves making a new thread too.

Not a bad boot sale this week even though I had a bitch of a headache. Didn't rain too which I thouht it might. Anyway...

    Mega Drive, 6 games, 2 official pads = ?3.50

Boxed + Mint Playstation 1 Dual Shock Console + 3 mint boxed games = ?5.00

Frogger (PS1) = ?1.00 (Getting harder to pick up cheap)

Need For Speed Underground (PS2) and Metal Slug 3 (PS2) - Both mint and complete = ?7.00 the pair

    Aliens 3 (MS) = ?0.20

The Sims: Hot Date = ?2.00

    15" Plush Pikachu = ?0.50

    Bottle of Sake = ?1.00

Passed on a lot of 50p PS1 games today, I just wasn't in the mood. Also, what is it about people who think ?3.50 is a reasonable price to charge you for Formula 1 97 on the PS1!!? Fools.

Your booty from the weekend anyone???

I would love to know this too, the only decent car boot sale I know of close to Liverpool is near Langothlen in wales. Its absolutely mamoth, however its also a good hour and a half drive, which kind of kills my enthusiasm.

the decent ones will probably advertise in your local paper - it should have a car boot sale section in with the classifieds.

I look on my local newspaper's website. It posts all the upcoming things in the "What's On?" section which is handy. Alternatively, go driving down some 'A' roads and you're bound to see signs eventually. Depends how keen you are to find one! :P

Anyone been to the boot sales today? What you got folks?

A few weeks ago I saw an advertisement for something comparable to a car boot sale. It was held in my former primary school * ah memories...sorry, I digress* and in the paper it said that it would have 'books, cd's and computergames'. When I arrived it turned out that it was in fact organised by our local library who were getting rid of books that were hardly lent, cd's that just gathered dust and...a stackload of N64-games which weren't lent because of PS2 and X-Box. Cue me buying about half of what they were carrying with them ( they were amused at my enthousiasm :-D )

I got ( no box, but with instructions and very good condition ):

                    -Banjo-Kazooie

                    -Bano-Tooie

                    -Star Force Gemini

                    -Yoshi's Story

                    -Zelda: Ocarina of Time

                    -Super Smash Bros.

                    -Perfect Dark

                    -Diddy Kong Racing

                    -Super Mario 64

                    -Ridge Racer 64

                    -Extreme-G

                    -Pokemon Snap

                    -Paper Mario

                    All this for EUR13 = 8.7? :-p

It was the first time I've ever been so lucky with this kind of thing!

Ahhhh yes....another Sunday and therefore another load of loot

Today consisted of driving to one car boot then getting lost and driving 71 miles (yes that's seventy-one miles) to the next one and back home again. All in the name of gaming eh! 8)

                        Here goes...

Boxed Sega Mega Drive II w/ Boxed James Pond 2 and a 3-game cart - ?6
                        Dreamcast PAL (Unboxed) - ?4

Street Fighter 2 Special Championship Edition (MD, boxed but no instr) - ?1.50

Boxed Street Fighter 2, Crystal Kingdom Dizzy and Moonwalker + 100ish Amiga games - ?3

Duke Nukem: Land of the Babes (Complete, PS1) - ?1
                        Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (Complete, PS1) - 25p
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (Boxed, no instr) - ?2
Resident Evil 2 (Missing Disk 1, Boxed, No Instr) - 50p
Resident Evil: Survivor (Complete) - 25p
2 Mint random PS1 games (bought for cases) - 25p each

Not a bad day...just some lovely Res Evil stuff which is always nice.

Car Boot 'Quote of the Day'

Me: How much is your Mega Drive Sonic 1 please? (hoping for a 20p steal)
Him: That's a fiver there mate, it's a really rare expensive game that Sonic one is mate.
                        Me: *walks off*

                        Gotta laugh

I get there no later than about 8:30. But it really doesn't matter sometimes, you just need to hunt around and haggle a bit!

                              Syndicate (PAL)
                              PilotWings (PAL)
                              Killer Instinct (NTSC)
                              DragonBall Z (NTSC)
                              Starwing (PAL)

                              I paid....

15 pounds. Not bad - but not as good as some of the finds on this thread! This is at Kinross market - there's a full market on Sunday and a car boot sale on Saturdays. Kinross is about 25 miles north of Edinburgh. If you're after rare games, or games to sell for a vastly inflated profit (yes, I found Panzer Dragoon Saga there one week for 1 pound - it's that sort of place) then it's always worth a look.

I wouldn't have been able to wake up anyway, glad you didn't bother ringing for a nice 150 mile odd round trip!
