Whichever way you look at it - classification wise - Wipeout Pure and Burnout Legends PSP aren't exactly nibbling at the same evolutionary branch of gaming are they? For sure, both involve racing. One in a spaceship, with weapons, and the other in a car bashing your opponents off the the road. Similar, perhaps. But then Legend of Zelda Windwaker is fundamentally similar to God of War, in a "3D wandering about hitting things with a pointy object" sense.
So if Wipeout Pure (which is good, I accept) can't be considered a better racer than Burnout Legends, you're left with:
Colin Mcrae PSP
Toca 2 PSP
Ridge Racers PSP
By any objective viewpoint, (and I own two of them, and have played the third) we're in a different league with BL:PSP, graphically, sonically, and content wise. Colin and TOCA 2 are both good as they go, but don't quite hang together. And Ridge Racers. Come on. You probably got it as your first or second game. You annoyed your workmates by showing them the intro video 4 times. And then you played it to death for about 3 days. But after that? Seriously? It has no depth. None. It's like 1995 all over again. You don't even race, you chase 15 cars, catching them up one by one, until you find one that's about the same speed as you. Again. And again. And again.
Burnout Legends, even if you don't like it, or find it "rough around the edges" is the best racer on the PSP by a country mile. It's a fact. Like Hitler being a genocidal maniac, or Golden Grahams tasting funny to non-Americans. It's Avogadro. Non arguable. Pi. The big bang. Evolution.
