I decided that I won't eat food anymore (except when I am hungry). That seems to be the concept of this thread.

I too have a shedload of games on current and older gens.

However, mainly due to World of Warcraft I have only bought about 1 game per month since March this year, and they have been AA titles imo.

One of the factors, apart from WoW, which has reduced my gaming outlay has been the realisation that I already own and really enjoy playing what I see as the best in class, eg- no driving game I have bought can compare to F355 Challenge on the DC. Nothing, however flashy, comes close so why should I buy another driving game?

Only if it gets a 10/10 here probably.

I consider my entire GC and DC collections (and to a lesser extent PS2) to contain all a guy could want in all genres and even that will increase with future GC releases which I will definately buy.

Shadow of the Colossus has been my latest buy and well worth it too. Battalion Wars before that, also well worth it.

Before that was TT Superbikes. A motorcycle racing game well worth it's salt.

Before that God of War (nuff said) and a US PStwo to play it on, safe in the knowledge it was ready and waiting for yesterday's arrival of SotC.

      Before that Resident Evil 4.

The 360, PS3 and Revolution can wait for me.

The suggestion to wait until you buy a 360 or anything next-gen is a perfectly good one actually, I'm not going to bother because for one I need to buy Christmas presents for other people (and so should you), two I have plenty of games to play already thanks (which you already do) and three I don't want to suffer from gaming burn-out by not doing anything else with my spare time.
Basically, why do you have to get a 360 asap when you could wait three or four months, finish off some of the stuff you have and wait for the bundles and price drops?

i think i'm heading in this direction as well. the whole 360/PS3/Revolution hoohah doesn't interest me in the slightest. i went into town today with the express intention of buying a couple of canvases and some new paint, but before i left i checked my shelves and took some games with me, just in case i could trade them in for something - just for the sake of getting something new fortunately common sense won and i got nowt. this really has to stop, i'm just buying **** for the sake of having it - especially nowadays when the only thing i play is Lumines.

Gaming is over rated anyway. :P

                Especially if you're reading IGN.

I realised the other day that there is a lot of fun to be had if you're a year or two behind on games, then you can pick up a load of them in various sales/auctions and get some really good stuff going for cheap.

I should write a book; "How to make sure you've always got some games you haven't completed lying around the house if you're a lazy student", or something.

Funny, I'm kinda heading in the opposite direction. WoW almost ruined gaming for me, as it takes up sooooooo much time (and I wasn't even end game!). Forced myself to stop and now I am absolutely loving console games all over again.

For me, knowing something is available and reading about other people playing it is just too much for me to resist, so buying a new console in a few months time just doesn't happen (see: standing in the freezing rain outside Game at 7am just for a 360 VGA cable!!).

At the moment I am playing through Kameo, with a bit of PGR3, safe in the knowledge I have Ninja Gaiden and Outrun 2 in the post and Resident Evil 4 (GCN) waiting for me on the shelf.

                    Its all good!
