PSP Owners: your top 5 games?

OK, I know what your thinking, but I'm not trying to start a which handheld is best war (fanboys get back in your boxes).

My PSP should be turning up tomorrow and I have been ignoring most PSP related threads in the hope that I could resist Sony until Xmas. I crumbled when I saw the white one...

Anyways, I take it Star Soldier and Lumnies are top 5 games right?

My top 5 psp games are

    1. Winning Eleven
    2. Lumines
    3. Ridge Racers
    4. Virtua Tennis
    5. Burnout Legends

I expect GTA to be up there when I play it tonight though.

      My PSP top 5

1/ Lumines - addictive game, fun and did I mention addictive
2/ Burnout Legends - The only racing franchise I like, not a patch on the console versions, but still good.
3/ The Con (US) - played the shop version a fair bit. Good fighting game with a little management and a lot of gambling. I like the fact that you don't move around yourself, instead using the directional pad to dodge hits. Great customizable character feature.
4/ Mercury - tough puzzle game but fun.
5/ Virtua Tennis: World Tour - again not a patch on the console version but a fun game which works well on the psp.

looking forward to future releases but the console has yet to engage me.

Well definitely Lumines. Got to admit to not having played Star Soldier. If you're getting a PSP you're going to have to get at least one racer. You can't go wrong with Ridge although it's worth looking at Wipeout if you like the fast futuristic aspect of it - it's an excellent game indeed.

After that? It gets trickier. There are so many racers on the PSP it's hard to look at anything else. Hot Shots Golf needs a mention. It's better than any golf game has any business being. If you like fighters, pick up Guilty Gear. And, well, I haven't got my copy yet (on the way from tronix) but GTA is bound to be a must-have.

          In no order -

Ridge Racers - still an absolute peach to play; sliding round corners is as fun as it ever was, great handling, nice looking & decent tunes as well.

Star Soldier - fast, frantic fun. Wave uopn wave of naughty alien that need to be taught a lesson. Not flashy, but solid & extremely playable.

          Lumines - enjoyable puzzler.

Everybody's Golf - solid golfing action; if you've played any in the series before then you know what to expect, but it's nice to have on the move.

I'm going to add in Princess Crown as well, despite not having played it - I believe it's a port of the Saturn game & that's great

Problem is there aren't 5 good games. So instead I'll do my top 3:

            Lumines
            Ridge Racers
            Wipeout Pure

And none of those would manage to get into my DS top 5 (and not becuase they aren't DS games :P)

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Metal Gear Acid, yet there is a lot of love for a golf game >_<

                Everbodys Golf
                Ridge Racer
                Densha De Go
                Wipeout Pure
                Mercury

                The PSP needs more games

Not my kind of thing. I want a 3rd person action adventure a la the home console entries.

I have it but I wanted a game. After half an hour of exposition and loading screans and verry little in the way of gameplay, I was no longer in the mood and never got back to it. I dont mind this on a console game but on a handheld I'm a little more impatient to get to playing. My friends insist it's good so I will get back to it eventually.

i only have 3 games (with another on the way), but i have to say after initial misgivings about the weirdo tate mode and the sparse graphics, Star Soldier is by far my favourite at the moment - the 5 minute score attack is a thing of beauty and a joy forever. all i need now is a port of Psyavariar.

                        Lumines
                        Mercury
                        Wipeout Pure
                        Tony Hawks Underground 2

Thats my favourites so far, all the others I have are just average.

i only have 3 myself, but they're all nice.
taiko no tatsujin, best thing on the system so far imo
ridge racer, which everybody knows about
densha de go - yamanote sen, i'm not hugely in love with this one, but its good fun, and in contrast to the other games i have, very relaxing .

hopefully armoured core will be arriving soonish, allthough i'm not totally sure when the release date is...theres a few conflicting ones flying around.

                            From what I own:

                            1. Minna no Golf / Hot Shots / Everybody's Golf - probably my favourite PSP game so far
                            2. Ridge Racers - I'm not a hardcore racing fan, but this game is great fun
                            3. Mobile Train Simulator + Densha De Go - enjoyable little game
                            4. Lumines - polished puzzle game whose only flaw is that it takes too long to play a standard game
                            5. Winning Eleven 9 - an OK conversion of a great game

Taiko is very well executed but it's just not the same without the drum, and Vampire Chronicle / Darkstalkers isn't bad but suffers due to the button layout and stiff diagonals on my PSP's d-pad.

                              in no order

                              Lumines - music is outstanding
                              ridge racer
                              bleach
densha de go & mobile train simulator
namco museum: battle collection (only for rolling thunder)
