I was impressed with CoD2 on the 360 when I had a go of it yesterday, but the jaggies were doing it no favours at all compared to the PC version.

That can't be right. Everyone has catagorically stated that the 360 hardware will blow PC's out of the water. Double the frame rate etc etc (As a 7800GT owner, I am not biased towards the 360! I decided to wait for the game on 360, so as to see it in it's full glory) But do you mean that this game looks better on PC!!! Should I get that version instead?

Or did you mean the other way round? The 360 is better because it has less jaggies? I'm confused! Months ago I suggested that todays cutting edge PC's would have better visuals, but it was explained not to be the case on the boards, and COD2 was used as the prime example of where the 360 was better.

I don't care which platform, but just need to know which version to buy!

        Cheers

The 360 version of COD2 has anti-aliasing turned off. On PC the choice is yours, if you have enough hardware power to run it. You can also of course, run in higher screen resolutions than the 360, and enable higher levels of anisotropic filtering.

            JOIN THE MIN0RITY!!

I've yet to play CoD2 to be fair - And don't all the demo pods come with jaggies? Hopefully there won't be any Mick Jagger anywhere come Dec2.

Woah! I just thought that stylus from the XX/XY2 playasia ad was a spliff!!

              CoD2 gameplay price for 360 - ?39.99
              CoD2 PC price - ?27.99
Difference between the two - Zero (assuming you have a HDTV)

              No brainer for me.

CoD2 X360 - rock solid 60fps, every effect turned on
CoD2 PC - fluctuating framerate with even high-end pc, high framerate running in directx7 mode

Dunno which high end PC you're using, John, but mine plays it lovely. Dx9 and at 1280X1024.

Besides which, I have a fundamental problem lining the pockets of MS and Sony by paying a premium over the PC version, for exactly the same game.

turn on FRAPS and check out the framerate - particularly on the more intense battles, the frame-rate drops dramatically in places (this is with everything maxed out)

oh the frame rate isn't consistant, i'll give you that - unless you vsync.
