I wouldnt mind having a quick spin in PGR3 & RR6 perhaps in-store or at someones house just to look at the pretty but I'm not interested at all in buying either of them, nor anything else that's been announced or amongst the launch list for that matter.

I'm not excited then and that makes me sad as I was all happy about the whole parallel European launch thingy

i'm just being reserved for a while as the original xbox didn't grab my attention that much, but its tempting as i love racing games to impluse buy one just for pgr3 and ridge 6 to see if theres improvement over pgr2

i need to wait and see what the reaction is to the new system as i can go and buy some games that aint played on current gen systems first

I remember being unsettled at night because I couldn't play Halo and importing an XBox 1 from america.

But nothing in the 360 launch line up unsettles me at all. And the killer game on the horizon, Gear of war... Single player... Epic? Come on now...

Metal Gear Solid 4 gives me night sweats though.

I'm just happy next generation has officially started, and look forward to the first killer next gen game that isn't a graphics update sequel.

I might have imported one just to play old xbox 1 games on... but well, you know...

I'm holding on to the money in my wallet until

          :
          • They are actually available in the shops (and the preorder crowd is sated)
          • A couple of games I want are out (Elder Scrolls and PD0 at least)
          • A get a few paychecks in my account!!!

After playing the demo units I am definitely not that excited. Both the games they had seemed like recent Xbox titles, not brand new 360 offerings. I still know I'll get one eventually though, as the quality is bound to go up a great deal from here.

We all know the 360's killer game is going to be Halo 3. We also all know it's in development and that it just hasn't been announced yet.

The first chance to play Resident Evil 5 isn't a bad draw either (it's inconceivable Capcom won't later port it to the PS3 if it appears on the 360 first).

To be honest, I find the setting (characters/environment/general theme) of Gears of War to be very generic from what I've seen. Don't get me wrong - it looks amazing from a technical point of view, but it just feels very uninspired.

Alan Wake and Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (which will hopefully be with us before mid 2006) on the other hand both look heavenly.

I keep forgetting about Alan Wake as Remedy have gone quiet on that front - I'm really looking forward to that one as well.

The whole Twin Peaks / The Dark Half / GTA vibe it's mixed together has me intregued - and if its anywhere near as twisted and weird as Address Unknown in the Max Payne games it'll be refreshing

The funny thing to know is that, GOW is using the Unreal 3 Engine (as everyone) which is just middleware software. This means that it?s not taking advantage of any feature the X360 is giving it. What I'm saying is, the best is yet to come (i.e. Ninja Gaiden 2 and Halo 3 etc).

I think GOW is looking nice and is in some ways underrated graphically when compared to MGS4. Indeed, MGS4 does have the art style and high polygon characters, but at the moment (BOTH GAMES ARE IN DEVELOPMENT STILL) the backgrounds textures are pretty ****. At least with GOW, you have good looking characters (graphically, I would say its better than Snake Model, his actual art design, maybe not) and good detailed backgrounds.

Just looked into Alan Wake there, never even heard of it before!!!?

Downloading some HD clips of it now to see what it looks like, sounds really interesting anyway!

We Haven't seen ANYTHING of Alan wake since E3, so the improvement should be huge whenever we do get to see it.

So true, you can't help but gawp at the graphics, but I get the distinct feeling its another 3rd person game that should be 1st person. Brute Force anyone?

I'm not that bothered about the launch either.

There are numerous reasons why but the main one is simply that the launch games really don't excite me that much. I enjoyed PGR2 and PD but I can wait to play the sequels (especially in the case of PD0 which looks a little disappointing) and Kameo and the others hold little or no interest to me.

I'll almost certainly get one eventually when there's actually some games I want for it but until then I'm perfectly happy to make do with my existing consoles.

regarding the 360 killer app: GOW is most likely not a candidate (looks poor from gameplay point of view - imho) and Halo 3 and Ninja Gaiden 2 aren't even officially announced, and surely wont show up before the end of 2006. so, what's left for the first year of 360-gaming?
