They spent the first ten minutes of the podcast talking about Shane being a massive fanboy since he wasn't there and it's hard to argue on the basis of the show. Even on his blog he has a large paragraph on how much bad feedback he's heard on Lost Planet and then goes on to defend himself about perceived bias in his reporting, while at the same time withdrawing his comment that Trusty Bell looked like a Dreamcast game.

I know there's a ton of PS3 bashing on the 1UP podcast (and everywhere) but it happened before the 360 launch just as much from the 1UP editors especially, and Luke Smith certainly doesn't pull any punches when it comes to the Wii. Most of the podcast was talking about the keynote and - let's be honest - it was pretty dire.

at last, something positive about the PS3, I thought everyone had turned anti-PS3.

I agree. I was laughing along with the rest of us at Sony following E3, but yeh all of a sudden theres some strong looking titles for it starting to emerge. And yeh I get what they mean too, most 360 games have some weird blur/glow/haze effect, whereas everything on the PS3 looks super crisp. And dont even get me started on 360 framerate/tearing. However, I think its the devs as opposed to the platform, just look at Lost Planet.

I myself must admit I was quite sceptic to the PS3, but seeing the videos of RR7 and Motorstorm made me actually want one. Not at the price right now though, but perhaps earlier than I had planned. Forgotten is the "giant crab"-crap and "look at this almost Wii-dual shock".
