yknow whats funny.. i normally enjoy 'not the 1upshow' more than the 1upshow itself.. it's normally missing the weird acting bits and revolves around a few of them just discussing some games.. really enjoyed this one with everybody in the office going through what we've seen at the recent shows etc.Comment

Nice to see lots of different opinions about all the consoles, some interesting discussion on the Wii and someone who likes Genji 2 (Shane, natch).

John Davison is looking forward to the Wii (he even says so in this week's episode) as does Shane (who also clearly hates the 360). The others pretty much state that the Wii has masses of potential, but they are looking forward to the killer game that truly brings all of its unique points to the fore.

I quite enjoyed genji 1, but genji 2 isn't a reason to buy a ps2 at launch, let alone any launch title shane was pishing about, if he said Lair and talked more about Resistence i might have agreed with him. Most of the games at launch look exactly the same as their previous incarnations especially genji 2. Shane's argument was like a little boy trying to win an argument against his parents. I think people who are unsure about the Wii are a lot wiser than those who think that new control system = innovation = best thing ever. The one Wii game that screams "MUST PLAY!" to me is a GameCube game with annoying-looking controls and, apart from a few obvious fits like Wario Ware and games designed for the controls like Mario Galaxy, I'm extremely concerned that that it's going to get games for other consoles shoehorned onto the new controls. Call of Duty 3 being an obvious example.
Of course the DS was much the same for the first year and now has some fabulous software, but what I want to play on a handheld is very different to what I want on a home console and I'm not convinced that the experience will transfer effectively. I don't see the games there yet and I think some people are too keen to give it the benefit of the doubt because it's Nintendo.Comment
