Yeah ive seen these. Very GG esque. The more i see the more i like. Every character seems to be solid and the Fatal Kos are straight out of the anime. Cool little touches are there as well; in the anime Rei slices Mamiyas top off to reveal her chest and in a video on line you can seen him cop a feel midfight and then proceed to knee her in the head!! Absolute gold!!

good videos but Fist of the North star looks a little cheap.

Too easy to pull off a big combo which goes on forever...Want to play it though!

i liked guilty gear x but i thought it lacke a little oomph when it came to hits connecting. This looks better for that.

Its for the arcade .I would have thought a ps2 version would be very likely

If the damn console can handle a conversion decently. On the bright side all GGs have seen release on ps2 aswell as other popular atomiswave titles, lets hope its successful enough in the arcades although theres been plenty of hype on the net: the demand is definetly there but whether sega will answer remains to be seen

Interesting matches, i posted some others which have a one or two more other characters being played, like the huge fat belly chap >_<

                Videos

I'm quite interested in this even though GG wasn't my bag. I'm more in the mood for a OTT bitch slap fest this looks to be. Though Fatal K.O.'s off a throw seem just a tad 'weak'. Ah well.

I hope games like this will see some serious consideration for the xbox live arcade service over the new generation ^_^

                  Some new vids here:

GG isnt my bag either despite my best attempts to get into it. I acknowledge it as one of the best 2d fighters though and certainly the best post - SF3. I mean whats it competing with? Lacklustre KOF revisions, CFJ and shallow crossover games. Too many years of strict capcom and snk indoctrination prevents me from being able to get into GG much like my inabilty to get into VF due to Tekken, i'm poorer for it as well.

This will be different however, my love for FOTNS will drive me to get this game at all costs

I do hope this is good, has anybody played it? Is it even out yet (I'm looking at you people based in Japan)? I do love The Fist Of The North Star.

Can't stand the GG games myself, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for this.

Anybody remember the PlayStation game? The one with little mini-games like punching the fat guy's belly in, it was probably the best modern scrolling fighter I've seen, but it was going back to about maybe 2000, so perhaps it was actually a bit ****e.

Also, what on earth occured at the end of the '2nd-to-last' match from the game41 site?

Did one guy try to counter a fatal K.O. with one of his own and then both characters become 'hand locked' wrestle style? The victor being the chap who could 'track&field' style mash the buttons faster win??

                      Eeek!!!

No. Its an animation specific to the anime/manga. Its Rei's Nanto Suicken Ougi: Hisho Hakrei (South star swan fist: Soaring white loveliness). He arcs down and slams both arms down into your shoulders. Any other character will die there but in the case of Yuda who dies at the hand of this technique in the manga pulls Reis arms out, says sorry for all the bad things he did and how great he really thought Rei was (its a bit homosexual in the anime actually, Yuda wears makeup aswell!) and then thrusts reis arms into his chest as a coup de grace much to Rei's surprise.

                          Sweet!!

It's been an age since i watched FotNS, i'm going to hound our Teodi for a lend ^_^

I'm not bothered about homoerotic undertones, my fav character from One Piece is Mr 2. Ballet Kempo!!!

                            Watched most of the vids.

Seems ace.Did notice a few combos which look like they could be infinites though.

Not to sure what to make of the fatal KO.Reminds me of the destroy moves in guilty gear x.Except they can be put into a combo. In most of the vids they are used But only later on in the match so perhaps you have to achieve certain goals before you can do them.

Would be intrested in what the various bars do

Basically to activate the Fatal KO one must eliminate all 7 stars under a characters gauge. Seven representing the number of stars in Ursa Major, the Great Bear, Big Dipper etc,. I believe if a heavy blow connect thats one star. Once all seven stars are gone the death star (Hosei) lights up under the characters life bar (in the vids if you look closely you'll see it shine, when it happens the characters face briefly appears on screen). In the anime those you could see the death star were destined to die within a year, so in the game when it lights up they are vulnerable to a special KO. This is why fatal kos happen near the end of fights because it takes time to eliminate the seven stars and light up the death star unlike in GG where you fill your power gauge and hit all 4 attack buttons to activate fatal mode.
